GigSpot

I remember reading a year or two ago about some shoppers that canceled their GigSpot account because there were shops not showing up on the platform that were available on the MSC boards. Is this still the case today? I was just wondering if I’m missing out some shops... Thanks ????

I can add some anecdotal evidence of this happening. I received an email today from Strategic Reflections looking for people to do a shop about 15 miles away. That shop is not on the app. I wonder what else I've missed out on.

This happens ALL THE TIME with Strategic Reflections and Gig Spot. Also, I’ve been having a problem with applications going through with Gig Spot. Yet when I call the scheduler, none of my apps are visible to the schedulers. Also there is a new scheduler for the shops I do for SR and she is holding firm on rotation which no other scheduler in 14 months of doing these shops has ever done. I live in the boondocks and many of these shops are in nearby boondocks. I am deeply satisfied that several of these shops were on her email begging to get them done.

I've yet to find a single MSC that likes GigSpot, I refuse to use it, and nary MSC I contract with has any problem with that. The ones that are my clients all know my opinion about that matter, too. Just for curiosity, is there anyone who actually likes GigSpot? I think miracles are cool and it'd be nice to see one.

I am on it but I am going to remove myself after submitting a shop I just completed. I agree that we are likely missing opportunities.

I found GigSpot to be super-lowball, aimed at getting new shoppers to do shops below standard rates.

I signed up for Gigspot when I was just starting out. Now that I know better I think I will close that account and go with the individual companies. I have a couple of jobs with outstanding payments. If I close my Gigspot account I won't lose my pay, right?

I did not even think of that. It might be smarter if we wait until we get paid first.

Is ISecretShop the same way? Are there jobs on the regular MSC's site that are not listed on the ISecretShop page? I'm wondering if I should delete that one as well.

ISS is not proprietary. You can keep it and still check the individual companies job boards, unlike gigspot. I get emails regularly from one ISS company and I never see that job on ISS.

Hate it. I think it is a good idea but the app is crap.

Update: I emailed GigSpot yesterday and asked to have my account deactivated. Within an hour I was getting direct emails from 2 of the companies I had done work for via GigSpot. It appears my log-in info carried over to the company site automatically. I also noticed there Alta360 had more jobs on their site than were displaying in GigSpot.

I use them sparingly for a couple of MSCs . Not had any real problems with reports being compromised. A few minor glitches. But consistently reliable. I read a lot of doom and gloom about them. A few schedulers tell me of problems they have had. Seems I try to apply directly to a MSC. And I'm immediately kicked over to my Gigspot login which I'm not to fond of.
