I did 10 fast food jobs for them since Sept 29, 2010. Received pay for only 9/29.
I tried to contact them by the e-mail which I was getting the jobs with. Never had a problem getting the jobs, but now they don't answer any of my e-mails when I ask about my pay.
I only have an e-mail tcallaghan@ssishops.com.. This is where I got all my jobs.
They were thorough in giving my jobs by e-mail. I did about 14 jobs at Wendy's & Burger King. They paid me for the first job only. Way over due for paying the rest of the jobs. Never had a problem with contacting them when I had a question.
E-mailed about my pay and never a response. I think I have given up Mystery shopping to risky. Not a problem with the other companies I have done.
I did a couple of searches. The ssishops.com domain has been taken for a few years and networksolutions.com who was the vendor does not show any pass through information. Of course the ssishops.com website itself is "under construction" and seems to have been so for quite some time. Tcallaghan, however, would appear to be Tom Callahan with the following contact information:
720 e main st ste 1d
Moorestown NJ, 080573058
United States
Telephone: +1 (856) 273 8512

Note that your email address for him indicates tcallaghan when it is most likely tcallahan. You might try contacting without the 'g' or picking up the phone.

I have no reason to believe that the company is or is not legit.
Barb,

I'm having the same problem at this time.

All my questions about shops are answered immediately except those concerning my way overdue payments.

Apart from doing 13 FF shops regularly each month, at Wendy's, Popeye's and BK, I did 5 Optical shops which incurred my paying money upfront for the purchase of contact lenses, plus shipping expenses, from which I obviously gained nothing.

Tom Callaghan owes me big money too. Thanks Flash for providing contact info.

Thank you for your reply.

I did get all my pay in two checks in February after I called and e-mailed.
I liked doing the jobs, but was concerned when I didn't get reinbursed after a longtime. Hopefully if you keep trying he will send your money.
Thanks for your input Barb,

I'll let you know my update as well! Yesterday my calls were not answered. My emails regarding PAYMENT remain unanswered too. But I'll keep trying.

Barbhgold,

So far that has not been my experience. I received a check with less than 1/3 of what I am owed in total.

When I enquired for a break down of these checks, in order to determine which CLIENTS refuse to pay me my dues for shops carried out over the past three months, TOM DID NOT REPLY TO MY EMAIL.

He wants to protect his clients and that is very WRONG!. They are being dishonest and besides I have every right to know what is going on, in order to make a choice for whose clients I work, based upon whether they pay or not.

None of us here does mystery shopping for fun or worse still to make losses!

How long did it take you to eventually get paid IN FULL, if I may ask?

I did jobs in Oct., Nov. & Dec., I was paid complelty by February.
I liked working for them you exactly what you were suppose to do-e-mail were
clear. When I took the jobs I didn't know how they paid or when so this made it difficult not knowing if I was gooing to get paid. Hard to reach them.
I did get phone number and left a message after e-mailing. I then heard from them and they let me know when the checks were going out. I did fast foods and I don't believe any clients refused to pay me. I have not been asked to work anymore jobs.

Good luck!
Barb,

The company may be legit. And I believe the clients ARE paying Tom is no gentleman! He refuses to pay me!

Yesterday he said he is going to reassign my shops to another shopper since I refuse to keep on working 13 FF shops per month for him WITHOUT PAY!

I hope that shoppers in NJ be wary of this guy. Judging from my personal experience He does not mean well. I do FF shops for other MSC, at the same clients as Tom's and they pay without giving me all this hassle to chase my money.
I am having the same exact problem. He emails me concerning the shop but as soon as I ask when I am getting paid the emails stop. He wants me to do the June shops and I want to do them but don't want to continue on if I have to wait months for my money. Any updates?
Tom never contacted me after he paid me for the jobs I did. He must have found someone else for this location. Hope you get paid soon. I liked the jobs, e-mails were clear and easy to understand and he gave you enough time to do them.
Good luck!
Ok, so I just got paid for April, he WILL owe me for May and wants me to continue to work for him. He told me I will be paid at the end of the following month. I want to do the jobs because like you said, they are very easy and fit in my schedule. I am just so gun shy now. I cannot afford to lay out a ton of money and not get paid. WWYD?
The shops are easy to complete and the questionnaires not very time consuming either. That's the catch!

Just put your foot down about getting paid HKWC, Do NOT accept any more shops before you get paid in a TIMELY MANNER. Its in your interest to see that he lives up to his word. As you noted, he expects us to put out a lot of money upfront which we may not always be comfortable to do so.

GOOD LUCK!!

Ok, so he paid me for April and PROMISED IN WRITING to pay by June 30 for my May shops, July 31 for June shops and so forth. I talked to my husband (he is actually more skeptical than me) about it and we both agreed to see how May goes and if he tries to mess with me again, I will take action. I spoke to Jonathan at Shadow Shoppers and he assured me that SSI has been with SS for years now and does not have a black mark against them and maybe this was a "hiccup" I am probably a fool to do these 4 shops this month but I will give it a try one more time. Wish me luck : ) I will give you all a update on my success or failure.
I have one, only one, this week, with an optical shop. In and out, pays 8.00. I'm still seeing what is good, what isn't, who pays, who doesnt....etc.
That is an excellent approach Rhonlynn. With most any company there are good and bad aspects and you really need to determine for yourself what works for you. For companies that are potentially slow payers, it makes more sense to have 'trial' shops be ones with little or no out of pocket expense. The only companies to really avoid are those that with a fair amount of consistency are NOT paying within their advertised payment cycle. And each of us finds different shops convenient and reasonable. So anything except companies that pay only when the BBB is contacted or there a need to threaten legal action, should be considered fair game to try for at least one shop.
well, I'm not out of anything...the certain department store I love and go to alot? As if I'd not be going there anyway.
BTW, I am happy to report that I have been paid "nearly" on time for the last two months : )
Thanks for letting us know that, HKWC! It is really heartening when someone who had an 'issue' can come back and let us know that things were straightened out. This is not the equivalent to an "all clear" until there is enough systematic subsequent history to recognize the former problem was a 'rough patch'.
The last payment I received was in July. Like many of you - I have e-mailed - and not received a respons. The payments are irregular and the amounts are difficult to determine!! I have been with them for some 4+ years and in the beginning, there was no problem. NOW there is mo response. It seems like I always have to 'ask' about payments.

Nick in SEPA
i did a job for them and i was emailing them over and over with questions. after i was done with the job they stopped answering my emails. i still cant figure out if they are fake or not.
I've never shopped for them and I'm finding it easy to figure out. Looks like they are (or were) "real" but that they're in the habit of stiffing shoppers.
I have done 8 shops for this company, 4 in fast food and 4 in casual dinning. These were done in October and November of 2013. I am still waiting for payment. They owe me almost $300.00. Tom Callaghan was my contact. He responded very quickly when I had a question about a job. He has ignored my requests for payment. Thanks to Flash I now have his phone number and have left a message for him. My recommendation would be to look elsewhere for shopper opportunities.
Hello! Everyone..

I did my first shop back in March 2014 for this company at a yogurt shop and to this day. I have not received a cent yet o my money and reimbursement for doing these yogurt shops. I am owed money or March, April, May, June and July of this year and have not received any monies. I sent Tom an email back in June asking about my money and he did not respond to me for a week or two. I just did two shops for him for the month of July and still nothing. I enjoy doing the yogurt shops and the reports are easy and he and Janet really work with you but payments are not taking place. I figured not shopping for them is the answer but I want my money or doing my part. Anyone know of any avenues to take to get paid for shops with this company. Please help!!!!!!!! Thank you.
