Market Force job availability

Hi, All - I'm new on the forum, but not a new shopper. I have worked for Market Force since 2001 and have found that if you cultivate a relationship with the schedulers you can usually negotiate. The note keeping can be beneficial, for example: we have a location that is extremely difficult for parking and the schedulers have a hard time finding someone to do it. Since they started keeping the notes they have a good record that shoppers are turning it down for that reason, so when they call me I can sometimes negotiate a higher fee if I agree to do that location.

The note keeping will definitely help them be more efficient. I used to get called by the foreign schedulers several days in a row asking me to drive 200 miles for a $4 or $7 Chinese food shop. I would always explain to them that if I did it for a low fee previously, it was because I was in the area for other shops and needed a meal. They would still call again the next day, but that has stopped now.
* sigh * I remember when MF would have desperation pay for some nice road trips every month. One FF chain hasn't been shopped since 2015, but there were still some burgers and gas stations. I got spoiled.
I tried to accept through the link, and only got the regular price. Tried the helpdesk, they said I did not go through the link. So sorry no extra $2. How it supposed to work? My links take me to the main board. Then I have to search for the assignment without evidence of a reservation for me or bonus. Seems like the link should take me straight to the assignment. Will not get burned twice.
Most times I've found that the extra $2 is not worth the effort; I just wait it out until the payments go up.
They had a make an offer, and I bid $3 over what was on the board. I have previously done it for what I bid. They declined it. Their loss.
All the recent bids I've made have been at least $3 less than I was previously getting. I put in a bid $2 over the advertised price and it was declined; the job is still open! And that was about a week ago.
They seem to be decreasing what they are willing to pay. I have been getting bids rejected constantly that they took all the time. Now, I have been biddibg about $3 less and get a shop once in a while.
Ive noticed the same trend. Recently I bid $5 over the offer for a burger shop. It was declined. Two days later the same job was offered at my previously declined bid. I snapped it up. I used to do 8-15 shops a week. Lately I'm averaging about 3-4. Fees too low, bids declined.
I’ve noticed the same downward paying spiral the last few months... but I will say I emailed back 2 Samantha offers for the burger place last week that were each a $18 fee and they were both assigned to me so occasionally I still get a decent fee if they really want something done.
I got one of those shop offers from samantha for the hospital thing and I took it as it was a great deal and I'd already be in the area. There is a parking reimbursement for up to $30 and toll reimbursement as well. I said I'd take the bus for $9.60 round trip which is well under the parking reimbursement and the tolls are another few dollars. They said no, they only do parking. I've been working with them for years and this is the first time I asked because most shops are within a few miles but I've asked several other companies and they were glad to not have to pay a high parking fee. I won't be doing this shop again. Honestly, I used to do a dozen shops for them a month, which is is high around here since there's only 30 or so shops listed a month and now I'm down to one a month, there's only 2 shops within my 30 mile radius right now.

They've paid for Bridge and Ferry Tolls for me. When they stop, it'll decrease a lot of the work I do as they're the only MSC I'm aware of that pays that and with at least one gas shop on an island then unless a shopper lives there, it's not getting done. BTW - are they still doing the Hedgehog location or did I get dropped? (used to get them all time. No more)

Yes, they still do the hedgehog shop, in Ohio they do anyways, in my area it’s on the board as a weekly shop as several locations near me has some issues a few months back. After that happened the shops changed from monthly or twice monthly to weekly.

It seems to me that dining shops have been going away. The dining industry is working on slimmer profit margins so it isn't surprising.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.
