ABOUT FACE MYSTERY SHOPPING COMPANY

I accepted a job with AboutFace for $170; window replacement consultation in my home. The scheduler has disappeared and I am wondering if this shop was a scam? Thanks.

Why doesn't she respond to my emails regarding the shop I am working on? I tried contacting the company but no response so far. Does Tanya Harpe work for them? I spent 6 hours with 3 companies and 40 hours on the reports. I do not want to put more time into the reports if I am not going to get paid. Any suggestions? Thanks.
40 hours? WHOA!

I haven't done anything for About Face in a very long time, but I never had any issues with them. Did you try calling? (678) 989-2290

Here is a link to their facebook page: [www.facebook.com]
Scam? How is having you do some in-home window assignment for $170 a scam? Scammers would be sending you a check or have you go buy gift cards, something like that, and it would be for a lot more than $170. Did you get your assignment details and do the report on their website? That's not how scammers work.
Ok. I just logged into their website and saw the assignments you are talking about. I am not sure why you think this is a scam. Try calling them or contacting them through their facebook page. Also, on their website on the right hand side of the page, there is a download link with contact information for shoppers. I am not sure why finding this information is difficult for you and also not sure why your scheduler is not responding, but here is all the information I found on their website. Good luck.

I tried everything. Emailing, calling, texting; everything. I had 3 companies come to my home. Each one took 2 hours each. Six hours spent on consultations. I recorded the calls with permission on the fact I could not that I remember everything and I had to go over the information with my husband before we decided. I listened to each tape: 6 hours, translated, grammar and sentence structure took hours, then entered the information  to each separate report. Then they had an additional report comparing the 3 companies. I stopped on the second survey (after I spent 12 hours) because the scheduler did not respond to any of my emails. I just got scammed for $600; ebay cards. I should have known better. I have been a mystery shopper for over 7 years and never scammed before. I still feel awful about the scam and with the scheduler and company not responding what can I think?

Thank you for the information, but unfortuanately I have tried all of the above. No response. In fact, I have been trying for days. The live chat does not work; at least not on my computer. When you call their numbers, you get a voicemail. Text; no repsonse. I am a successful mystery shopper for 7 years and never had a problem like this before. This is all new to me, so I am in the dark. The shop is $170 and I am afraid of not getting paid, but I do not want to put another 12 hours in to finish. Why does it take me so long? I recieve 10's on all my reports. I am detailed and thoroughly.
Scams work in many mysterious ways besides money. This shop entailed a lot of time and someone could use their website to have someone else do the work and submit it as their own. Who knows? I am reaching out, but what other explanation could there be for a scheduler and the company not to respond to my queries?
I'm really sorry to hear about the ebay scam, that's terrible. Look, I know that you are NOT being scammed by About Face. I wish you the best of luck and hope it all works out okay.

Hello, I had a payment issue with them last week and like you I tried calling, contacting etc over and over all week. . No one was answering me and the scheduler for my job did not even seem to still be there. My job was in May so I was wondering about payment as their pay report looked as if they had paid me last month. Finally in desperation I called one of the numbers and just plugged in letters and it rang thru to someone completely unknown to me. She was probably a scheduler somewhere else in the US> In any case she was very nice and did some sleuthing for me and solved my issue.
If you are having trouble contacting someone that does not make it a scam. It makes it having trouble contacting someone. It seemed some of the staff were off for the long holiday week which turned out to be the issue in my case. When I finally heard back I got three or four emails answering the 3 or 4 emails I had sent to that person. Their phone system does not seem to include being able to just contact anyone unfortunately. You need to have a name. Did you punch in your schedulers first three letters of the name and get to leave a message? If so she or he probably still works there.
Chilo, I used the number above for text messages and received a reply within an hour of sending the text. You should try texting that number again with your questions.
Chilo, Shopper911 is having a conversation with me right now and they say that they responded to your text, and additionally they have proof from the scheduler that she did indeed reply to your emails. You might want to check your spam folder. About Face is not scamming you or anyone else.
I am now having a problem getting my scheduler to answer a question and I can't input job until she answers.
I have been at this since 11:00 AM, and my job will be late if she doesn't respond, not happy with them right now.

It's 4:30 in L.A., will wait till tomorrow morning. I have #'s and all info., no one answer's now.

Texted and got an answer from higher up (I think). Told me to give Jessica a chance to respond...I've been emailing her directly since 11:00 AM yesterday, no answer...I am done after they tell me how to login and finish this job. I had to make a purchase, and will return it if I don't get an answer by this afternoon. Since they are helping a Canadian company for this new job with their shoppers, not sure About Face even knows what's up...sad smiley
This was an easy job, but getting a response has been time consuming and getting on my last nerve.

Just did report, the Canadian site only receives one login at a time, so if one person from the states is reporting, no one else can, hence it took 2 days for me to get on site and no one from About Face knew this until I threatened to de-activate, then Jessica looked into it. She didn't answer my emails because she said they were having floods in Texas and had tech problems....two days to finish a small easy report. Over and done.

Live consciously....
Geesh. Yes, they are having some flood problems in Texas. I have relatives there who are all having difficulties.
