ath Power?

Any ath Power shoppers out there? I've got a question. I've shopped for ath for years, over 200 shops. Suddenly they've stopped using me, no explanation, no complaints or critique. Does anyone know what's going on? When I asked them, I got back an email saying the reserved the right to use whatever contractors they wanted. No details, no reason, just weird. Any insights anyone has would help. Thank you so much.

I haven't done anything for them in a long time because they don't have anything in my area that interests me. I still get the emails. But, what they wrote is true, as an IC they can pick and choose. It is odd that they won't tell you why. Did they completely deactivate you or do they just decline your applications for shops?
Right now I am out of rotation for virtually every bank shop they have within 20 miles of me, lol.

The last I looked, I'm activated, but I don't get emails anymore. The email when they responded , now that you mention it, did say something about rotation. It's just weird to me, because I'm fairly certain that in some areas I've covered for them, I'm the only one who does. I feel bad for the schedulers, and also it's come at a time when I could have used the shops. It's good to know that it's just something they're doing and not something I did. Thanks for the info. It really helps. Personally, I'm disappointed with them. Just tossing loyal shoppers to the curb; I thought they were a better company than that.

Sorry you got bumped, too.
akat,
How many MSCs are you signed up with?

I think many MSC's do like to change it up (nothing personal). I was told by another whose restaurant I was doing weekly, they're putting me on hold for a month, owner wants to get a different demographic. I totally understand as long as I'm not dropped for good. I just applied for a job from Ath after not doing them for awhile, as I did every bank this side of timbuckto.....hoping to get it as I want their service....doing the same banker is embarrassing.

I do the majority of my work for one scheduler. I do a shop here and there for two others.
But how many MS COMPANIES are you signed up with??? To stay busy most forum members think 50 to 75 MSCs are about right to really get busy; more if you are in it to really make $$$$.

Irene and ATH shoppers. I have shopped for ATH for years, I have noticed that the banking has changed a lot recently. There are very few teller, drive-ups, just about none. They seem to be more involved with Financial, mortgages, loans, credit cards, etc. There is only one bank near me that still has the teller type shop. Most of these type shops you have to make appointments, sit down with alias facts, and the pay is low. I live in New England.

I know and also the one branch here they do require a fee to open a savings account which they forget to tell you. I haven't seen a teller job in ages and pay is good for taking out a credit card, every different job here
(savings, checking, investment) has a different fee ranging from 36.00 to 150.00. You are allowed one job every 6 months here.

I usually get assigned all the shops I apply for or that they personally contact me about, but I don't seek out their shops due to the long wait for payment. I still have an open shop from June. I would do much more for them if they paid faster.

IME with ath, if there's an open shop that you know you can do (even if you're within the rotation period) and it's still on the board for some time, just email the scheduler. They've waived the rotation requirements for me in the past just to get the shop done.
Shops around here are for big banks mostly. You can shop a bank branch every 6 months- and never do the same type of shop at the same branch ever again. Kind of limits what you can do without driving many miles. Then again, why would you drive 30 miles one way to a new branch when there is a branch a mile from your home? Wonder if bank employees wonder that???
Easy. "I was in the neighborhood and realized that I had time to do this now." Or some variation on that. I do any of those shops within about 20 miles, if the fee is right, or the bonus is big enough and/or I have other shops that I can pair with it to do an efficient 1 day route. logistics, logistics, logistics

Or that you are thinking about moving into the area, Or work in the area. All kinds of reasons. You know we are hired to be professional liars. Well not really but if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck you get the gist.

I once did a bank shop 300+ miles from my home because it was hugely bonused and I was visiting family. I just told them I'm moving and wanted to get some stuff out of the way while I was looking for property. Even though we don't have any branches in my state, I still keep the account because you can do everything online.

Shopping the South Jersey Shore
They have the one bank here, and I never know what banker will be there, as they move them around to different branches. I can't remember their names, and they really want you to make an appointment, so, going in doesn't work here , they take your name and # and the banker calls for Appt, the credit card (largest fee) has to be opened along with a credit check,.....Hassle city, not willing to drive far, plus you are in their computer once you open anything with them....just over it. I tried last time to open a savings acct. until I heard about the monthly fee for anything under 5,000..seven dollars a month to open a saving account...please!

I prefer to think that we are hired to be an actor in an improvisational play. The play is performed (usually) for an audience of one. As a good improvisational actor, I respond appropriately as the audience reacts.

Hmmm, I am reminded of my 5 year old playmate who announced, "Lying is a sin. Sinners go to hell. We can't pretend, because that is lying and we will go to hell. I know because the (name your favorite religious institution leader) told me so". My mother had quite a talk with Patty's mother after that sandbox incident.

You know, I still meet people as an adult who live in fear of God's wrath and of going to hell? That's the way they were raised and they can't get over that mindset. I don't get it. I do the right thing because it is the right thing to do, and of course there are some gray areas there for everyone, since we don't all always agree on what is wrong and what is right. I am a "live and let live" type of person and as long as no one is causing harm to others (or themselves in some situations) it's okay by me. But we won't get into a religious discussion here, didn't mean to sound like I wanted to start one.
