About Face

I am considering the junk removal shop offered by this company. I am going to have to pay out close to $300 up front and wonder if anyone can tell me if they have done this mission or worked with this company. Thanks much.

I've done more than one of these and have been paid. The report is not lengthy or difficult. $300 sounds a bit higher than what the going rate was in my particular area, even with a hefty bonus/shopper fee, but that's great for you. One thing for sure is the money doesn't go as far as one would think. Take whatever you want hauled off and figure 1/2 will be removed for the covered reimbursement amount.
The reimbursement is $288 and the pay is $30. $288 is for their minimum pick up rate. Do they charge out by weight or volume? Thanks for your help.
What I recall is that the fee was based on how much space it took on their truck. What worked for us is that I prioritized our junk removal. Biggest/yuckiest had high priority and so on.
I just did my first as I wanted info. about moving. I found one guy to be extra aggressive on the phone and put down I'm scheduling a move (not true), it was a cancellation job. Once they got here, they were knowledgeable and fine, but their prices for removing two items were very expensive, so I won't use them. The job itself wasn't bad and report easy. Surprised at how fast their growing, #1 removal company.

Live consciously....
I did one a few years ago and for that one, I had to decline the job to see if they would offer me a lower price for cash. They didn't (which was good for their job security) and I got paid. About 3 months ago, I did one where I accepted the offer and paid in cash (and they offered me a receipt which was good for their job security). The minimum charge in my area is $99, and that is what I was reimbursed. You must be in a "high rent district" if the minimum charge is $288! The MSC is trustworthy, just be sure to take the before picture.

Thanks for all your help. High rent district? I guess so, probably one of the more expensive places in north america.....vancouver british columbia, canada. Gas is $1.55/litre, milk $5 jug, butter $5 pound. Can't buy a house for less than a million and a 2 bedroom apartment rents for $2000 or more. I am moving to Vancouver Island, a 1 1/2 hour ferry ride away where you can still buy a decent home for less than 1/2 million and rent a 2 bedroom apartment for $1200/month but the gas and groceries are just as expensive.
So, you're wondering if you want to take a risk with $300 of your own money? What did you decide?
We needed a load of junk hauled away when we were getting our house ready to put on the market. In my area, the max. reimbursement is around $150, which is probably a 1/4 load (the MSC's guidelines say it's about the size of a small dresser). Well, for the amount of stuff we had, it seemed too much work to do with the risk of a report being rejected. I'd have paid for the extra amount of stuff, but their prices were higher than a local guy I found. So I just hired him. Now there's another shop up, and we still need stuff hauled away, but still not sure it's worth it for the small reimbursement amount.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I was going to go ahead with the shop but after reading a small dresser would cost $288 I decided to borrow a truck and pay the per tonne rate at the dump. Thanks for all your responses, they all helped.
