Maritz problems

Anyone else having uploading issues? I did six gas audits for one brand today with no problems, then had 5 with another brand and they all wouldn't upload on the app and crashed losing all the data. I tried using the web browser and still had trouble uploading pictures.

Phone camera file size is too big. That's why they reccomend not using the app for assignments that have a lot of pics. Best to resize before uploading via computer.

I had serious upload issues recently while on site. It was frustrating because I had a 8 location route and I wanted to knock it out in one day, but the pictures wouldn't load. I also didn't like that I couldn't "skip" around in the form, so a few questions for outside, then inside, then outside...finally, I took all of the pictures, made notes, and went home (I ALWAYS bring a hard copy of the survey with me, thank goodness!). This was a Saturday, and I went to complete my report but there was a question where the instructions and the guidelines said "photo NOT required for 'no' " but the website wouldn't let me submit with no photos. I immediately did what I could for all 8 shops, saved my work, and called to leave a voicemail plus sent an email with screenshots. Of course, I didn't hear back until Monday (the day after the due date) and got emails in the meantime about overdue shops. Thankfully, I got someone on the phone who was reasonable, and they told me to change my answers and he would notate in my account that there had been an issue if it got flagged for review.

I learned not to rely on the Maritz app...there are other MSCs who do gas station audits and using their app on site has always been a breeze.
When it will not submit because of missing photos (that are not really missing) click "ok" on the pop-up message then click "submit" again. It will go through.

@MamaBearBlue I too bring a hard copy, just in case. And, I hate the going inside then outside then back in. At least they changed it so that we don't have to take pictures of the pumps in order.
Clearly, those who designed the app have never mystery shopped. The inside/outside/inside thing drives me crazy.

They will try to blame uploading issues on size of photo. Simply not true in most cases. It's a poorly designed app and outdated website.

I've been around and around with the schedulers over app/website issues. They do not know what they are talking about.

It always reminds me of a conversation I had with a Market Force shopper advocate. She told me that if I wanted to have their website work properly on my computer, I needed to take Windows 10 off and replace it with Windows XT. I will let the computer literate among you chew on that one.

As it turned out, they just happened to be doing computer maintenance at the exact same time I was inputting reports. Once I found out their schedule, problem solved.

The situation is the same with Maritz. The schedulers have no clue what they are talking about. They come up with some crazy responses and ALWAYS try to put the blame on the shopper. It's not you, your phone, or your computer. It is the flaws in their antiquated, poorly designed computer system that can't handle smartphones and sophisticated computers.
The app was probably one of those ideas that sounded really great in the boardroom but no one took the time to try it out in real life before investing in it. Just my opinion.
Problems with the Maritz app have been going on forever. I don't use it. I've never had problems with the website, though. Knock on wood. smiling smiley

I had upload issues last Friday. I did the entire report with long narratives, hit submit and got the usual "are you sure on the end time?" marked the box, hit the submit again and the report didn't upload. So I had to redo most of the questions. I have decided to now to write the narratives in Word and cut and paste them to the report. I don't like having to do work multiple times especially for the low fee they pay.
I never have issues with the app. I am much more likely to have issues with the website like tstewart3's.
I could literally spit nails at this point. All of my pics are 640/1080. They upload fine, however when I hit submit, the spinning wheel of death just goes round and round. Finally it will time out. I have to do the entire report over because only the pictures save. The text content goes away. I've tried hitting save before submitting...same issue. I've done the same 16 pump report 3 times now. I need to walk away and cool off.
I remember another forum member having this issue. It turned out to be her/his? internet connection. It just wasn't fast enough to upload all of that before it timed out. Try saving after every 3-4 photos? Either that or take your laptop somewhere with fast wifi.

OK, tech dinosaur here. I too have had problems with photos, especially on Maritz' site.

First off, Chrome browser doesn't have this problem as severely as Firefox does. So even though I hate Chrome, some reports I just have to use it (IPSOS and Alta360 come to mind, as well).

Second, make sure the first photo has uploaded in FULL before you answer another question or download (upload?) another photo. It's better to wait one or two minutes between putting photos on than to lose the report.

Also, make sure Maritz is the ONLY window open on your computer.

I hope all this doesn't sound just too stupid for words.

But in the long run, I had to "upgrade" my DSL. My computer speed (which was supposed to be up to 12 somethings) was at 1.2 somethings; the other one, for uploading or downloading or whatever, was at 0.8. Just tooooooo slow! I now have something called wi-fi. I am, of course, clueless.

Fortunately, the upgrade didn't cost more per month.
I finally got 4 night shops entered. I "saved" like a mad woman every 5 or 6 pictures. Very time consuming. I have Comcast WiFi. I've never had any issues before. I use Internet Explorer for Maritz reports. I was told by Maritz that is what works best. I'm thinking of trying to do the reports on Chrome of Firefox.

I used to use IE and had issues. Since I moved exclusively to Chrome I have no issues. Occasionally I have trouble with Maritz reports but that's usually around 2 AM or when I fall asleep while doing reports and it times out - I'm thinking that that might be when they perform backups. The nice thing with them is that when it happens I simply send them a message through the help center and then walk away / head to bed. I pick it up the next day and I've never had a report rejected. I don't know if that's because of my record with them (I've done close to if not more than 1000 assignments with them) or if it's because I'm not the first person that it happens to, but I suspect it's a combination of both. Don't stress next time, just let them know and pick it up later.
I don't have any problems with it as long as I don't mind watching it spin for an hour and never getting into the app smiling smiley I always print and take hard copies or log into their actual site. I will not use their app, I did a gas station once and lost all my work as the pictures vanished. .
Well, this might sound crazy, but...… I am a frequent visitor to resale shops like Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc. This is because I am cheap and I like to support those organizations. Anyway, over time I have purchased routers from these establishments.
This means that at any time, I have at least 3 to 4 different routers But, for some reason, sometimes its signal it sends out wirelessly diminishes.
The other routers are connected to it by that fatter than normal phone line (I cannot remember its name). There is also a "Router Extender" connected to one of the routers. The "Extender" is in a separate location away from the other routers and is used to extend my connection to very remote locations on our property. (BTW, I bought the extender at a resale shop!)
So, when I have an internet problem like "weak signal" or another problem, I just click on my icon and search for one of the other routers that has a stronger signal.
Also, I put a timer on the routers that shuts them down electrically for about 30 minutes and then restores the power to them. I set the timer to do this at around 3AM. My partner says that this allows the routers to shut down and reboot themselves every night.
For some reason, one of these methods work and I no longer experience connection problems.

Also, if all else fails, I would also suggest going to your local library, Starbucks, DD or fast food business and connect wirelessly to their free WiFi.

I use Chrome or IE and have the same problem with both. It doesn't matter if I am at Starbucks, Home or the Library, same thing happens, pictures save, text doesnot.
Any suggestions on mobile camera size settings or digital camera settings for the shell gas station photos?

dining, Suggest you delete the brand from your post as the MSC is mentioned in the OP
I do the gas station shops for MaritzCX using their app. The questions are often not in logical order, but I have to disagree with the posts. You CAN skip around the questions by using the icon in the upper right corner. I do it all the time, especially for doing pump photos when the pumps are in use. I find that I prefer to keep the pumps in numerical order to make sure I have them all.
One thing that does “bug” me is the app questioning how long it takes me to do a shop. That is, when a location has 16-20 pumps, I sometimes go a little over an hour to do the shop, and the app requires me to certify that the times are correct. Why do they care if it takes me a little longer to do it? They’re not paying me any more.
These are the yellow shops. They rarely have much of a bonus (in my area) and I only do them when I’m not busy.
I also hate the way MaritzCX makes you invoice the shops separately, unlike EVERY other MSC that does it automatically. I think it’s just a scam on their part, hoping that you’ll forget and they won’t have to pay.
But I do a lot of work for them, so I can’t complain too much.
What pixel setting do you use on a digital camera for gas station audits? I plan to use 2 megapixel.
I hate the question about taking over an hour to do the shop as well. When I do the yellow shops, I always go over. I prefer the other gas stations that Maritz has. I can easily do these in under an hour.
I go over because you have not set the shop up properly in the app. So I will no longer use it and just enter it all using my sprint drive instead of your stupid app.
Here it is a month after the OP's original post. I am still experiencing the report photo issue. IE, Chrome, it doesn't matter. I have resorted to saving the report often before that message pops up about the photo upload issue. When I say often, I mean after every 2 or 3 pictures. That has been working, but is not a viable fix or workaround. Once that thing shows up on the screen your report will only save the pictures...no text. I know I must sound like a broken record. Just wondering if someone has found a better way.
Oh, I know it's not an internet issue. Comcast upgraded me to 5G 2 months ago.

I am still having the problem also. I also know it's not an internet issue since it happens when I am at home, the library, Starbucks or on site.

I always resize my photos before i upload. Haven't had any issues.

I agree!

I use my digital camera and have it set for photo size 640 X 480. Other than router/internet problems, I have never had those upload problems.

BTW, I have the Steri/Cori resize program saved to my computer. If needed, I could use that.
My Canon camera is set to 640 x 480. I know my sizing is not the issue. I was hoping Larry @ Maritz could shed some light.
