Re: MF (question about them)

I'm writing because I want to know what the benefit is in uplevel-ing with them.
Is it the pay?
Pray tell?
Thx ♥

Market Force does not have fancy shops. You might get more of a bonus if you prove that you are reliable and they need to get a shop done.
Oh. Their shops are quite limited, so I thought that their level up number might have something to do with it.
Thx

Nope. You get what you see with MF. You can negotiate bonuses, and they might have the occasional high-paying shop, but it won't be anything that no one else sees.

Why do they have level up then? Sounds like some sort of promotion. Yes?

Great question. I did level up early on. I never noticed much of an increase in the shops I was able to see afterward. Maybe it changed something, can't be sure.

At this point I've given the same info or a subset of it to dozens of other MSCs without even a promise of a selection advantage, just to finish their applications. So whatever. They want demographic details like every other MSC. They just found a clever way to make us think we've voluntarily given it in exchange for some (likely) non-existent benefit..

What are you talking about? I have never heard of this "level up" that you mentioned.
I think they're referring to filling out an "Extended Profile". That's what it sounds like to me. It makes sense now.

Yes, it's roughly equivalent to the extended profile concept. They've broken it into five levels. Each level is achieved by surrendering additional profile type data. Level 1 is just payment info including SSN / EIN.

The promise is that as you progress through the levels, more shops are available in exchange for the additional info given.. The reality is that the shop availability is imperceptibly different...but they have your info now.

The levels are represented on the web site by 5 numbered dots in the upper right hand corner of the screen, under your shopper ID. As each is completed the dot turns green for the corresponding level.

Weird. I have been with them since they were Shop n Chek (2001?). Never heard about this. They have always had my SSN (every company needs that info to pay you).

All of my dots are green and I don't think I'm getting anything everyone else doesn't. Currently, there are only 15 shops within 25 miles of me, and 7 of those are in another state, a ferry ride away.

Correct. New shoppers can do a single shop, but cannot be paid until they "level up" to level 1 by providing SSN. If 90 days pass and they haven't leveled up to 1, they are dropped / not paid.

My guess is that those of you who have no recollection of "leveling up" nonetheless provided the same info under some prior system. Your green dots were awarded with no fanfare when they rolled you into the current plan / website. It's the same demographic stuff they all want, they just built it into a game with green dots as prizes.

I've been signed up with them for 15+ years, and never knew this either. But I've often wondered what those green numbered dots were. I remember even trying to click on them but, of course, nothing happened. Thanks for the info. smiling smiley

Thank you for the information.
I don't understand why they do this though. They could just ask "out-right" for the information and be done with it. The dots seem more like a game. It makes you wonder.

Yeah, it was all promises of cotton candy and puppies when they wanted me to level up. But I couldn't say for sure that it got me anything at all. Except the beautiful green dots, of course.

Oh, and they stopped badgering me to level up once I got through level 5. I guess I got that too.

If I remember correctly: while progressing through the levels, clicking on the dots gets you to the quiz for the next level. So if for example you're on level three currently and click on the dots it takes you to the quiz for level four.

I click the dots...any dot...to get to my account info. Thought that's what they were for.

Re: Blocked.

I re-inquired of the HelpDesk recently.

I was told they weren't sure if the block is permanent, but I could check back in 3 months to see if it had been removed.

One other shopper I was corresponding with has been unblocked. The rest of us remain blocked.

cease, that's hopeful news!

It gets a little irritating deactivated by them frequently. Also, that doesn't allow you to access your shops/pay information from them. IMO, you should be able to access that at any time. It's ridiculous to deactivate you so frequently. I mean.. geez.

That being said, I like their shops mostly.
