I love this company and have been doing about a dozen shops a month with them. I just looked at my area, actually my whole state and there is nothing listed. I looked up the whole US and there are less than 100 shops listed. I am wondering if it's because it's a new year, but it seems odd that when there's usually 100 in my state that there aren't that many in the whole country.

I see plenty of their airport shops on the board. Some of their non-airport shops may not have yet been ordered by clients whose offices were closed over the holidays. Were they still doing their storage shop in December?
I see a few airport and blinds shops in this area.

Some of CSEs bigger clients renew thier contract terms in January and you will see them available starting in February.
@NinS We never had the storage shops in my area to begin with. @HonnyBrown We never had the blinds shop either. I looked up your area and I don't recognize the name of that place, so it might just be your area.
It's just weird, I'm not even seeing the airport shops I never do. All of the ones I've done have been for one client with many locations/storefronts. Maybe there's just a new shopper in the area and they're already taken. Just odd that there's hardly any shops in the whole country.

They released a lot of January airport shops and mall shops in CA during the last week of December.
That might explain it @azncollege . I may have just missed them. sad smiley

All I see these days are their airport shops, which I can't do because I'm not badged, and their mall shops. They used to have some bank shops and the blinds shops down in Maryland, but I haven't seen those in a long time. Once in awhile they'd have dry-cleaning shops and some nice-paying phone shops. But I haven't seen those in years, either. They do have golf shops near here, but the closest one to me is about 35 miles away. I'd drive that far, though, so hopefully I can do one next summer.

I'd like to do more shops for them, but there really aren't many near me, other than one airport restaurant they shop every month.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
For a company that does so many airport shops, you'd think they'd help shoppers with badging. But when I asked, they said they didn't....

They DO badge, but only for certain airports where they have an agreement. I know of two large airports in CA where they have badged shoppers. I no longer shop airports, so I turned in my badges.
@BirdyC They offer badges at SFO and LAX if you sign up to do their route shops. For a couple of the other airports (MIA and JFK), they offer an escort to get you past security for the route shops.

Unfortunately, none of those airports are anywhere near me, and I don't travel through any of them when I fly. But this is good to know, just in case.

I've thought about taking a trip North and doing the routes of airport shops in Newark or NY, but the idea of having an escort with you the whole time makes me feel funny and I'm not a real big fan of airports anymore. @BirdyC I did a golf shop last summer and I loved it. I hadn't been on many courses other than the small municipal ones and it was actually a fun shop. Definitely do one if you get the opportunity next summer.

I am badged for my local airport but have not yet received jobs for this month and the scheduler, who asked me about available dates, is out of the office until next week. They just re signed whatever contracts they have gotten for this year locally and I think those shops are probably not starting for at least another month. There are usually no indiv airport shops at my airport.
They badge for individual airports where they have a contract with that airport and expect a commitment from the shopper to do a series of shops monthly or more. They do not badge for once in a while shoppers from what I can see.

If you're close enough to the airport to shop, you can buy a refundable ticket for the last flight of the day, go in early and then refund your ticket. However, I recently did a route of these and in several of the venues, the reimbursement was not enough to cover a food entree and beverage because the additional airport tax and tip pushed it over.

@Jenny Cassada The escorts aren't too bad. For the most part, they stand a distance away from you (i.e. They'll stand outside the store/restaurant while you do the shop). They just need to be able to see you.
If I can route enough airport shops for a few MSCs, I'll purchase a Southwest ticket. Southwest has probably the best policy for refunds. You can refund up to 10 minutes before the flight departs.

The airport nearest me is very small, and all I usually see are the dining shops and a parking shop. Rarely see a retail shop, but maybe I'm not signed up with the best MSCs in order to find other shops there. But I wouldn't mind driving up that way and doing the parking shop and the dining shop, then stopping at the nearby casino. It would be a great excuse.... "Oh, I had some shops right by the casino, so I figured I'd stop on my way home."
