R.I.P sounds a bit premature, though the wording of the e-mail was certainly bleak. They are still open to clients for consultations and presentations. That said, from the aforementioned e-mail's tone, it doesn't sound too likely that they are planning to re-open their MS program. My consolation to the shoppers, schedulers, and employees. I'm sure that part of this is coronavirus and part is just the fact that overall religious service attendance in the U.S. has been dwindling for a very long time. I hope that those most affected by this are able to find various other rewarding, fulfilling opportunities.

Too bad! I always wanted to do one for them as I was intrigued but there were never any in my area.

Shopping domestic and international locations since 2003.

This was doomed from day one, they would not tell you the church name to visit so you might or might not be a member already. Another one no love lost they are gone.

i would think it won't be too long before a whole lot of churches will need an outsider's view of their online service. It's been a pet trick or after thought for years for larger churches, and not even on the radar for small ones. But it's going to be a big draw going forward. Many churches are pouring tons into it now...but is their specific effort productive?

Too bad they didn't attempt a revamp of their business model. I see all kinds of potential and a wide open market.

Oddly enough IMO it was honesty or dishonesty that brought them down. Disclose the church name before we accept ...they refused. We cannot be an employee of a place we shop. But yet we had to go thru all the pick solely by city name, not knowing if we had a connection to that church. Be honest to the shopper up front.

I did a number of church shops for them. I had good experiences and wish them well.

I wanted to complete shops for them, but my schedule and their locations did not align.

I did a couple of church evaluations through them. I'll just say with the amount of detail required in the report (both reports were sent back at least once asking for more details), I definitely earned my money.

I'm positive something similar will pop up again once this pandemic is behind us. To be fair, though, even with most church services taking place online, I'm sure people are still looking for new churches to join and the virtual gathering experience still needs evaluation.

In theory, yes. But a lot of churches order a mystery guest evaluation as a one-time or one-shot project.

What's surprising is looking up who else might be in the business, I saw at least one individual offering his mystery guest services--with a picture of himself on the page!
