ATH Power Problems

I am sick and tired of this company and how slow they pay! THey always promise that it will be better next month but they are taking advantage of their shoppers by holding the shoppers money for so long! I did a bunch of Bank shops and it took 10 weeks to get paid from the week I did the shops...this is wrong!!! I am going to look for a contact with Bank and let them know they are taking advantage of shoppers
How many of you are having the same kind of problems with them?

Donald,
Naming the client when you have named the MSC is a violation of your ICA. Please remove tha client name.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Donald, you are obviously new to the forum and haven't bothered reading around much. You will find a whole lot of folks are just fed up with this company for their slow payments and their substandard fees, especially for the amount of time it gets to be paid. They don't seem to be about to change their ways so personally I wait until they have to bonus the shops enough to make the wait worthwhile. And if the shops get grabbed before they get to that level to pique my interest, it is no skin off of my nose.
Mystery Shopping Company. When you signed your ICA (Independent Contractor Agreement) with the MSC you agreed not to reveal confidential information. The names of their clients are considered to be 'confidential information'. In general this applies to any public or private communications. In forums the general 'rule of thumb' is not to name the client and the MSC in the same thread. You have titled this thread with the company name and your post names the client. There is a blue "Edit Post" button in the lower right corner of your post. Click that and it will allow you to change the name of the bank in question to, for example, just 'bank'.
ATH is slow to pay, but at least for me, they have always paid within the stipulated time period.
I'm with Flash!! Wait for the bonuses an then go to work. Pray you get paid within 60 days.

They sent out an email this morning that states "Bank Shops- BONUS!" Of course the email mentioned no bonus amount or even fee amount and the website showed no bonuses, even for shops due today.
As far as I am concerned ath is a good company to work for. Their pay is reasonable for the amount of work involved. I am typically in and out of the bank in 15 minutes. Their reports do not require long narratives. I always try to do shops that are close together so that it is cost effective as far as gas is concerned. They do pay slow, however, they always pay. I have never had to chase any payment. If you do not like their payment guidelines don't work for them. There are many other MSCs that you can work for.
I am still waiting for payment since January. They owe me for about 21 shops, all banks! And yes, they do pay bonuses, if they ever pay them !!

It is not ath's payment guidelines shoppers object to. Many shoppers, like myself, make a determination, based on the guidelines posted by a MSP, to accept a job or not. If the company doesn't adhere to its own posted guidelines, that would be a valid shopper complaint. "Fast" or "slow" payment is really not the issue here; the issue is whether the company pays according to their own guidelines. I agree if you don't like a company's guidelines, don't shop for them. I also agree that if a company doesn't follow its own guidelines, don't shop for them.
ath always have paid 60 days after the shop. I just did 2 shops with a $10.00 bonus on both of the shops that makes it worthwhile. I have never has a problem with them getting paid when it is due. They tell you up front when and how they pay. I have no problems with them. As far as Bonus are concerned thay sent me 3 e-mails for 3 banks in the same city all with the same bank. I could only do 2, but the bonus made worth my trip.
Austinmom:

Here are the guidelines. As far as I am concerned I always get paid based upon these guidelines.

We do not use PayPal. Shopper pay is cut once a month – on the last day of the month for all shops completed the previous month. Example: All shops completed in July, checks are cut on the last day of August and will mail out within 7-10 business days (processing time). Processing time consists of signing, sealing, stuffing, metering and mailing through the U.S. post office.
Today I got a check for the shops that I did in January 2011. The cut off date was Feb. 28,2011. So I don't see any problems with them payi\ng at the end of the previous month. The check was mailed om 3/14/2011.
I was dissapointed by ATH trice:
The first time was after I did not get paid for a shop for several months, e-mailed & emailed and after finally getting a reply, I was able to make my case: that the shop was done at the teller window not the platform desk 'cause all the bankers were at the window & not moving. If I had not stuck to it I would have never been told why I was not getting paid the $17.50. It took five months!

The second was bad addresses, causing mucho xtra miles.

The third time, I did 3 shops , fully entered 2, faxed the collateral for the third and called the scheduler because I was experiencing classic heart difficulties. From the hospital room, I was in touch by cell phone with the scheduler who forget how many favors I did for her. I got a citation from ATH for the missing shop.

I took a long break from them but every so often I work for them again, for Easter egg money.
ATH Power may pay late, but they always pay. I have had no issues with this company. They have many shops and the shops are a good fill in when doing other shops. I have found their schedulers to be fair.
I shopped for this company for several years only because one of their clients was a large bank in my area. They no longer shop this bank, another msc does it.

Their fees are substandard and their questionnaires are longer than other msc's who also shop banks.

If anyone wants to hear about an unbelievable incident that occurred while I was shopping one of their bank clients, contact me.

BYE BYE ATH POWER, I AM HAPPY NOT TO BE WORKING FOR YOU ANYMORE!!!!

Care to share with members by posting? Is that what you meant by contacting you? Consider yourself contacted smiling smiley
I did shops in May and according to the payment posted I was cut a check on the 10th of July. It is now the 17th and I have not received my check. I complained to the MSC and they asked me to wait and see if my check comes on Monday that it has been sent. Why should I wait? It does not take from the 10th to the 17th for me to receive a check. I am going to complain to the bank because they have violated our contract agreement. It is not important to me whether the check comes in the mail Monday. What is important is that shoppers complain to the MSC client and force them to resolve their payment issues. Nothing done will result in no results. If we want the company to change we have to pressure them at this point to do so. I am just going to be the burr under their saddle. I am still goimg to do the shops assigned to me and will probably take more shops from them. I just want them to do better in that they expect us to do better.
First of all, none pay late (except, from what I read here : Goodwin, who doesn't pay at all, till sued etc) all pay within their stated terms !
"Fair about what?" elaborate please.
Enough with the "Nya nya nya nah" "I'm special, you're not" "Not to me" attitude!
Shoppers are sharing their difficulties presumably in search of a solution or simply want to vent. What is vented can be a learning experience. For example, as tempting as eating in an upscale restaurant may be, I won't work for Goodwin unless I'm willing to risk money, time & effort.
Forwarned is forarmed! A word to the wise is sufficient! etc etc etc.and so I thank the authors.
Stop already with the nebulous platitudes! Those only add insult to injury and again suggest that the victim is guilty.
I signed up with Ath, did a bunch of the banks and now have signed up through Bill.com so I get direct deposit on the 10th. I'm not doing that much of them anymore however - 30 days is not enough rotation and I've seen the same people a few times.
Bill.com direct deposits (this is good news) on the 10th but for which previous month's payment?
Also, it costs about $20/mo. Why not just sign up with paypal and/or open a small business checking account. Many banks offer them for free.

I've been signed up through Bill.com for ATH payments for around a year and have never had to pay anything.
