CSE changed it's name to CXE??

I just received two emails from CXE asking me to return my badges. I only have one and did not know that CSE worked at the other location. Did anyone know that they changed their name from CSE (Customer Service Experts) to CXE? I never got notification of that and never heard of either of the two people who sent emails. Is this legit? Anyone know?

It looks like they changed from CSE to CXE based on their website: "For over 25 years, organizations have trusted CXE, formerly Customer Service Experts (CSE), to help retool, rethink and reinvigorate their customer and passenger experiences."
Yes, I was finally able to speak with somebody there. The old phone numbers were not working. FYI anybody else who is interested they are retooling everything, their approach, the questionnaires etc. for those who shop for them at their main client. They said they had to lay everyone off that we dealt with from the old crew and once shops start up again they will have to rehire. I am hoping some of the wonderful people who worked there will come back so it is not a company of newbies who know less than the shoppers do.
I still have my airport badge because they never replied when I let them know I was no longer shopping.
Curious as to why they felt they didn’t need to send 1099’s to shoppers when 99.99% of the rest of the industry does?

So Cal I would think your airport badge is expired by now. This last round they only extended badges until June as they were still not approved for a new contract. I am not sure if they recalled all airport badges now or just the local airport badges as they do not expect to be doing any shops there until next year. You must have gotten lost in the shuffle.
As for the 1099 issue I think it is rather weird but have not looked into the legality since I keep my own records and rarely get 1099's. Here is an article I found explaining but the bottom line is the msc does not need to send any 1099 out if they pay thru paypal. Paypal is only required to send a 1099K is your earnings exceed $20,000.

No, they are incompetent. I asked for the address to return my badge (not LAX) at least 3 times. I have an expired airport badge on my desk still. It expired in July 2018.

I have many companies paying me by PayPal, and they all send me 1099's. PayPal also sends me a 1099K when I earn over $20,000 which happens every few years.
Incompetent or lazy...or both. I think they should send a 1099 especially since they must know the min requirement for paypal to send one as it is 20,000 vs 6000. So just as a courtesy to their shoppers, most of whom do not earn 20,000 from them, they should do it.
Firms which pay via PayPal are not required to send 1099s and really should not regardless of the amount they play. Its quite clear in IRS regulations.
I get plenty on 1099's from companies that PayPal me. CXE is just being cheap. Weird, they never informed me of any changes and I have shopped for them for about 6 years now.
