Which MSCs have shops to get taxes done?

So far the only ones I've seen are on MF. Their sister site, Certified, had some last year, but I think they've all been transferred to MF. And I think you have to have so much of a refund coming in to qualify. I'm sure there must be other MSCs doing them, but someone else would have to chime in.
I did one I found on PrestoInstaShops, so it must have been a SASSIE company (which MF definitely is not). But it was a couple years ago, and I don't have a clue other than that.
Thanks all!

Yes, the guidelines say to have a refund of $x. Since the evaluation is for the financial institution processing the refunds, the MSC never sees the shopper's refund amount.

They aren't in this area.

ETA: Thank you gladys.

I received an email from HS Brands for a Tax mystery shop.

Thinking about it, but the way I have my data organized for my accountant would give away that I am a mystery shopper.

How do you show mystery shopping income to someone you are mystery shopping???
It's easy. Most shops require that you have w-2 income. I don't take my 1099s with me. I just tell them, "I'm self employed, too, and here's my income from that, and here are my deductible expenses".

Do you just give them a number for the amount you make each month?
The tax prep location that I went to asked me to show receipts for everything and it just sounded a bit unreasonable to me (especially because I'm trying to hide that I'm a mystery shopper).

I just tell them I'm a business. Everything I give them looks professional -- I do my income/expenses just like a schedule C. They don't need it by the month, just annual.

This year, unfortunately, I have no W-2 income, so I won't qualify.

Back to Turbo Tax's free program through the IRS website.

Oh, and I do NOT take the 1099's in with me, either. Presented a problem a couple of times. I just tell them I work for so many different companies that most of my "gig" income doesn't earn 1099 status, so if they used only 1099s as proof, they would severely underreport my income.

I was missing a 1099 from an MSC the year after they went out of business. My Tax Dude went to one of his databases to pull the company information. "Mystery shopping company" was in the company description. He asked a few questions out of curiosity. I was actually shopping therefund service he used.

I take the first sheet of last years workbook. It tallies my income and mileage for each MSC.

I did their shop last year. They are my last resort. They took 3 months to pay last year.

I have seen them on Marketforce and HS Brands. Have you seen them posted on any other MSC? Thank you.

A Market Force shop came available in the city where I work. I took that one for this Thursday.

I did a tax preparation assignments yesterday. I submitted my report on an app. The reporting was easier than other years with other MSC.
That's great, Roxanne, but what MSC was it for? (Since we're not mentioning the client, it's OK to say which MSC.)
I looked at the requirements for the Bare shop. You are not filing your own taxes but a persona that is given to you.

Oh, good grief, I did that one (BARE) a few years ago. What a circus that was! BARE provided me with a W-2 for the business NEXT DOOR to the tax preparer! I handed him my W-2 and he reads it and says "I've never seen you in there." Gulp! So I say, I work in accounting, I stay in the back office. OK. That seems reasonable. "Why is your employer ID different from everyone else's?" He goes to a file cabinet, pulls out half a dozen returns, brings them to the desk, and compares employer ID numbers off the W-2. He does the taxes for all my fellow employees!!!

Egad. I just said, well, I work for Corporate. I don't know if that makes any difference. He looks at me and says, oh, yeah, probably different departments have different ID numbers.

I wonder if he ever went into that other business looking for me....
Hilarious CS, lol. I would have hyperventilated and fainted. Yet, IRL I would never do a job like that. YOU Go Girl!
Wow....the MSC had to know that would raise red flags.
