Has anyone shopped with them? We have a couple new hotels near us that they claim to service and I wanted to see the legitimacy of them before signing up.

They’re legitimate. The owner also post on here every once in a while too.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
Agree! They are professional and easy to work with but they do require decent narrative.
Thanks for letting us know! As @foodluvr mentioned the narratives can be tough, but the shops are pretty decent.

Thank you!

You should conduct a search using the key words, "True Guest", as well as "Roldan". Caveat emptor.

Exactly!
As long as Roldan is still there, I'll continue to avoid them. The work is fine. The locations are really nice. But man, if you're stuck dealing with Roldan you'll pull your hair out the entire time. He makes the entire experience just plain awful.

Said every normal person, ever!
I’ve had a ton of exchanges with Roldan. What was wrong with your experience with him? He’s totally fine with me.

Read your the comments on the other threads in which you defended him???? They are easy to find with a search.
Completely agree about Roldan. He is the face of their organization for us shoppers and seems to take pleasure in making our life hell. So, the easy way out is just to avoid them. They still owe me from years ago, and I take some small, personal and devilish, delight in sending them an email reminding them of their debt every six months or so......smiling smiley
Hi salisburync,

We always pay within a week or two. If you really have an unpaid shop, give me a call at the phone number on our website and I will look it up.

Adam (I assume), I'm not sure that's the part of this thread that bears addressing publicly. You have a genuine problem within your organization that seasoned evaluators have called out repeatedly. All you're doing by failing to address it is sending the message that there are more of us than you need and that our concerns are unimportant.

Since my comment was removed for "Attacking another member," one can only assume that the @FiveDiamond account is actually Roldan and not Adam. That would certainly explain why he refuses to address his own issues. (shrug)

I defended them because I have always had a good experience. Fine by me if you don’t want to work with him.

I don't need to work for somebody like that. I have much better contacts than him. Honestly, I don't need to work at all. I choose to work. Life is too short to work with somebody like him.
@LindaM It's good to see that you're able to work with him. I can't imagine what he's doing differently with you than he is for others, but you're certainly not typical; at least not around here. You may have just figured out how to deal with his quirks (for lack of a better term that would most definitely get my comment removed again).

So, again, I’m curious about a specific example? What did he say or do that you felt was unjust/unreasonable?
I can tell you on one occasion, I did two breakfasts instead of one breakfast and one lunch at the hotel. It was a big error at a fancy hotel. He asked me what happened and then paid me.

When I made one minor error with A Closer Look, they asked me to go back to the hotel and redo the meal portion!

Hello,

As soon as I get an email from gigpot for a hotel shop ( I know it is by Trueguest) I sign in immediately but then do not see the shop. Anyone know why that is? I can not log in to the main site as it directs me to gigspot. I was able to sign up before and loved the available shops but now I have zero luck.
While everyone is on this topic; I checked their Shopmetrics portal and they have 0 shops available. Are they using a different portal now, or when they have "available" shops, is it just them emailing shoppers?
When you do one of their shops, it is pretty intense. You will need most of your time in the hotel doing the evaluations and write-ups. This is not a shop to take if you want to be "on vacation". There are many components to the shop...each requires a report and narrative and pictures for some of them.

Pre-COVID, you APPLIED for the jobs on Gigspot. They assign them, and I think that they like experienced evaluators. I don't know what they are doing Post-COVID.

If you are a Gigspot user you won't be able to log into ANY of the main sites. You will almost always be directed back to GigSpot. The only way to avoid this is to de-activate GigSpot.
Five Diamond...Really?, I have called you at least six times on this with no response...so, I call "BS"....

It doesn't have to be, though. They have/had some great jobs and the survey requirement and requests aren't bad. They just make it so overly complicated to report and irritatingly difficult to deal with.

Hoju...yes they have great jobs, but Roldan and the other all knowing, all powerful "Oz", behind the screen (!),simply make it difficult to get paid....10 foot pole applies....
