I originally signed up with this MSC in approx. 2008 and had completed 114 assignments, all most all at restaurants. Last week, I received a strange message when attempting to apply for a job. I sought advice from this forum and was informed that was the manner by which an MSC informed a shopper they were blocked from the client. Today, I received a solicitation for the same job. I sent the below pasting to the scheduler

When I attempted to self-assign a location for which I was in rotation, the below appeared:

This shop is not currently available

I was informed by a few other folks, this was the company's way to inform me I was blocked from the client's eateries. If that is the case, please remove me from your mailing list. This is business and being identified, I begin my 19th year in April, is part of the game.

I then received a reply my account had been deactivated, which I certainly never requested. I have been fired twice in the past; once by BestMark in 2007 for refusing their shops I considered too low in pay and another occasion by MF in 2010, due to the number of shops I had completed. Am I mistaken or is this situation abnormal? It seems to me there is more than what meets the eye..

If you had just wanted to stop getting emails from them, you could have simply gone into your profile and turned them off. I think that they thought that you wished to be removed as a shopper, and they did that.

Thanks to myst and Kane; I did not see it that way, but each of you is correct as it applies to the mail, but not to cancelling our agreement.
I would work for them more but other companies pay a lot more for similar amounts of work. I just got an email from RBG with the heading

"BIG bonus!!! for this fun and easy shop."


The "BIG bonus!!!" Was $10

I wonder how many exclamation points they would need if they actually paid a significant bonus.
Funny you mention this. I got an email ACCEPTED for a bar shop that I used to do pre covid but no longer do because I now have a small child at home. They said that I had applied for it the night prior, but I looked at my emails and the one with that rotation is still unread. I thought it odd too because you have to enter username/password abd select the date before you self assign. I just got a new phone but find it hard to believe that I "butt accepted" a shop with that many steps, lol!

Be careful, the scheduler will give you a bad citation for not doing the shop :-(
