BestMark

I did a restaurant shop for BestMark yesterday. When I got home I went on the computer and read my email. The email said that they are trying to contact me to not complete the shop and that I needed to do it on another day. I was so disappointed because I just came home from there.

I know that I've read not too great stories on here from mystery shop companies so I said to myself that I will call and try and get reimbursed and if I don't I will just deactivate myself from them.

I spoke with someone today who said that indeed I would get reimbursed and I had to email her my receipt.

I'm very happy that they did this. I was afraid they wouldn't. So I have to say two thumbs up for them...so far...

I was wondering though if they do this often?

I have not had that happen to me with Bestmark. And, I'm very glad they did the right thing by you. Chasing down a denied payment takes time - which is money.

A question ~ ~ ~ why did they only email you and why did they not phone you with a matter of such importance? In reality, though, I have learned to check my emails and the shop itself for any last minute hitches from the MSP, immediately prior to dashing out the door to do the shop.
It is, I think, the first time I have heard it from Bestmark. I have heard of and had similar situations with other companies. What seems to happen is that they need to send in, lets say, 2 shoppers per month. They want to space them out so that they don't have shoppers visiting back to back. In an ideal world, they would have a shopper on site every 14 days. What happens sometimes is that the shopper ahead of you was delayed for some reason and rescheduled such that your shop would come right on the heels of theirs. The company wants you to wait until a later date to give time between the shops. If this was the situation in your case, they probably can live with the report that you were indeed contracted to do in the time frame. Another cause of delays in shops is that the client changes their mind about what they want observed and the company wants you to wait a couple of days until the new observations and reports are ready. I have fairly little patience with that because inevitably there are a lot more observations than in the shop I contracted for.
Thanks for the responses.

They did call. They called 10 minutes before I got home from my shop. My mother answered and they told her to tell me not to do my shop. I keep my cell phone off when I do my shops but no one called on my cell. I didn't get the message until I was done with the shop.

Flash, thanks for the advice. I will definetely be checking my email from now on right before I leave for a shop. And thanks for explaining. I was wondering why they did that.

As for doing the form, they left an email telling me not to do it. When I went on the site to look, the info was all gone.
And of course Bestmark is a company that does not even provide you with the shop instructions before about 10 days prior to the shop. So to a great extent they are playing a game of allowing the 'contract' to be altered for quite some period of time after you accept the work. That aspect never caused me any problems except for once when an on-site visit turned into a phone call when the shop finally appeared 10 days before performing it. Goofed me up big time because I had arranged a group of 'junk shops' around the Bestmark visit to justify the mileage. But I'm glad that you will at least be reimbursed.
I got call the other day from BestMark asking questions concerning a shop I had done. The person asked about 4 or 5 questins I gave her my answers and she thanked me. I went on their website later and it was marked finalized. This is the forst contact by phone I have had a couple of e-mails.
They are one of the first companies I started doing shops for. Never had a problem with them at all. I use to do the electronic stores for them but stopped at my husbands request as my son would need to be involed and the pay wasn't very good anyways and the report to long. I use to do the Cadillac shops for them, but I guess they lost that client. The pay was EXCELLENT and the reports were not to bad. Wish I knew where those Cadillac shops went to. But I think Bestmark is terrific!!!!!!!
Charlene, BestMark still does New Car Dealerships for another manufacturer. The pay fairly decently.
The other ones they do only pay $14 here and you have to take a test drive if they offer. Then the dealership calls me fifteen times in ten minutes to see if I am ready to deal. lol

I quit doing them. I'm plenty busy without them. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm doing electronics stores and plus size stores this week. I may not be able to do the plus size stores much longer. winking smiley I tried on a 14 yesterday and it fit! Whooppeeeeeeee! Used to wear a 28.

Today I Will Choose Joy!

"Finally, whatever things are good, true, noble, lovely, of good report...if there be any virtue, if there be any praise...think on these things." ....It's a command, not a suggestion!

The car dealerships that Bestmark does only pay $14.00 while Intellishop pays $20 and Monterey pays $25.00. With the amount of time they take I wont do them for less then $25.00.
When I was signed up with this MSC, a targeted apt. job for which EPMS was paying $40, was $18. After refusing to work for the offered pay on several shops, I was deactivated, an action to which I agreed was best for both parties. When I read posts extolling their "great" pay, I'm reminded that great, in this case being an adjective, is relative to the speaker.
I really like BestMark but I don't do the electronics shop anymore, either. Not enough pay for two people's time, and too many times I've had to return the game and am fearful of them figuring me out. But I do some other ones for them and I've never had a problem at all. They pay on time and have always treated me fairly.
Intellishop pays $30.00 for their high end car,and Knight Protection pays 25.00 to 30.00 for same amount of work, why do it for 14.00?

Live consciously....
I was getting 45.00 to 50.00 for a quick oil change or wiper blade replacement or tire rotation and plus being reimbursed. I dont think thats to shabby plus the dealership was 2 miles from my house. One time they called me to do another oil change for 75.00 as they could not find anyone with newer cadillac. I also think they are class act!!!!!!!
