HS Brands XXXXXX

Anyone do one of these?? I'm really ticked off. I didn't see in the directions to take pics of the food. Did I miss it?

Haven't done that restaurant, but have done others for HS Brands. They wanted pictures of the place I went to. They are pretty accurate with their guidelines. I guess if you had a copy of the guidelines and can prove it was not there, you would have a case. But they are pretty thorough.

HS Brands is a good, big company. However, their restaurants I have found to be on the more narrative-intense than I like. Not as horrible as Coyle or ACL, but bad enough that I don't really take much of HS Brands stuff either.

With any shop, I scan for keywords, "picture", "coupon", "gift" Then I know if these things are mentioned or not.

I'm pretty sure it's in the guidelines as I had to do one of these a while ago and had to take pictures of food and drink as well as the housekeeping cart.
If that is the client, you need to edit or delete your post as it is a violation of your ICA and this forum's guidelines.
I've been happy with the jobs I've done for HS Brands, but I'm a little amused that it's the only company for which I've received minor editor comments about the non-optimal "flow" of my narrative answers. I'm not talking about actual grammatical errors, but about incredibly nitpicky little edits that cannot possibly make a difference to the client.
I can't tell what you are working on because you listed the client and the MSC and one is now gone. Was it a sit-down Mexican restaurant? If so, the directions were there -and I did do it.
OP was talking about a "solid stone" restaurant that has a huge Native American casino in Florida and is an international chain. It's now owned by the Seminole Tribe in Florida. OP was not talking about the SoCal based mexican food chain that was previously shopped by Coyle and Market Force.
I did what I belived was a new Indian casino shop for HS Brands about three years ago. The report kept changing as I told them what was or wasn't available for the report they wanted me to fill out. I felt I helped them create the actual casino report they use today. However, I wasn't paid for three shifts and the hotel I used to do the shop.

Perhaps you were the first one to do this shop for them and they changed the report on the move?

Other than that, I like HS Brands and do their shops often.
I am sorry this happened to you. I have not done this shop, however, I know the MSC that had them as a client prior to HS Brands (aka Service Sloth) was big on pics of the food. I also see in the email from the scheduler advertising this shop that it mentions all photos need to be clear to be accepted by the client. You would think that they would have pointed out that photos of the food items and drink items were required at this point in the email. But they did not. Not having done this shop I have way of knowing if it was in the guidelines. However, I have seen the guidelines from the previous MSC and I would have been looking for photos requirements in the directions with new MSC and may have taken them anyway just to be on the safe side. Live and Learn. Just sorry you are out the reimbursement on this shop.

Bob comments--As it applies to this year, I have completed and been paid for six shops. The average report submission to payment was 23 days.
They were getting better, but my last few shops have been paid later and later.

Probably more customers take pictures of their food than not. As a mystery shopper, you should get in the habit of taking pics of your food before eating it whether required or not. Even if not required, it is a good reference for you later when you are writing your report on the appearance and quality of the food.
I quit working for HSBrands when they lied to me about paying me twice for a shop because they sent the wrong paperwork out and did not realize that all of the stores had different layouts.
I did one of the Southern Calif Mexican shops in June. There were a huge list of questions all of which needed to be addressed in the report as the server only hit about 10% of the requirements and that was probably by accident on his part. He was very nice. The report took three times as long to complete as ACL reports take me.
No pay yet. Does anyone know their pay schedule? I cannot find it posted.
Edited to say I heard from the scheduler. She said pay is 60 days past the end of the month you did the job so for me that is 2 months and almost 3 weeks...a long time. I will get paid the end of August for a job on June 11.

There has to be more to this story that you are omitting. I have done thousands of shops (yes thousands) for HS Brands during the last 14 years of full-time shopping as my only job. They have been nothing but fair and helpful at all times.
