Poof! On the road to a shop and Ipsos removes it!

Don't you just love this when it happens? No email or notice, it just got 'removed' from my log and their system (not available to self-assign). It was assigned to me an hour ago when I left my home!

I guess I'm not going to be taking the two shops I've done in the past that were highly bonused.

These shops are 100 and 70 miles from my house. I'd hate to make the drive, do the shop and then find they weren't assigned to me any longer!
It is the Ipsos way of doing business. Cartoon characters and swag in the mail while treating shoppers this way on the business end.
So did you do the shop or do you always check the shop log before starting your shop once you arrive? I'm thinking if it was a purchase requirement like a gas station or quick serve restaurant, I would get the receipt and then say something about how you did the shop.

Are we supposed to constantly know if a shop is valid or not? What if it was in your log and you performed the shop 10 minutes prior and obviously did not race to enter the results because you didn't think you had to worry about it getting deleted.

Yep. One hundred miles away from home, performed a highly bonused shop. Got home and it had been removed -- after I completed it.

No apology, no gas reimbursement, I'm out 4 hours of driving, another hour on-site, and probably one hour of prep.

Egregious.
Years ago, I learned that a shop I had completed had been canceled hours after I left home. I sent the scheduler a copy of the receipt time-stamped before her email had even been sent. I was paid the fee and reimbursed. For a while, I made screen copies of my assignments from that MSC to prove that I had had the assignment. After a year, I stopped making screen copies, but that will be my policy if that ever happens again. If the MSC happens to be one that sends out emails with assignments, the screen copies are not necessary, but not all of them do that.

@ceasesmith....Was this also with IPSOS or another company?

I guess you have to weigh how much you make from them as to whether to cause an issue with them over this. It sucks you poured that much effort into it and had nothing to show for it.

I think I might do like Myst4au and take a time-stamped picture of my assignment so that I have proof it was there. Then if any funny business happens, I can have proof of it.

I normally don't do road assignments (unless I'm already driving in that direction). But i do have a few scheduled and want to cover myself for a situation like this. However, the bonus amounts i'm getting are not abnormally high. They are within the range that is paid each period and I grabbed several of them.

I think I would be MORE worried if I was getting an absurdly high amount that is not typical.

Definitely IPSOS. I guess it depends if you feel $125 is an absurdly high amount. It certainly isn't typical.

It wasn't a total loss, I had other shops that day, that shop was my "anchor" shop. Turned a profitable one day mini-route into a...less than minimum wage per hour day!
That is ridiculous. Do you have the confirmation email that is automatically sent when you are assigned a shop on the Sassie platform? If you have any proof that the shop was assigned, perhaps you could copy and paste the text (delete the client information) on this forum. Tag every IPSOS scheduler/editor that reads the forum (Jennifer, Bill, Karen, Diane - I'm sure there are others). I have seen Karen jump in and try to help other forum users on more than one occasion. Blast them with a negative review on Facebook if this does not work. If your application for a shop was accepted, they broke a contract and should be held responsible. If I was enroute to a shop and it was canceled, I would not have enough faith in the company to perform another job for them in the future.
I completely agree with patman. If, however, a shopper's finances are such they must "lump it," that is understandable. As for me, if my money were not forthcoming, I would not hesitate to "kick 'em to the curb."

On a different note, Informa has $140 computer loan applications this month. I have completed two sets in the past and have one for tomorrow. I guesstimate two hours tops.
Informa is Curinos now but, like shopperbob, I still have it bookmarked as Informa.

Cease, I think of you every time I watch Gas StationTV's Word of the Day!

Ah, it was years ago. I did no more shops for them for several years. When they asked me why I wasn't shopping for them, I told them.

Twitter, Google Reviews, and Glassdoor are also good places to leave feedback on how IPSOS is treating its ICs. We owe it to each other to put information out on the companies (and independent schedulers) who treat us poorly. I always check multiple sites before committing large amounts of time or money to a company.
Wow!
