That is correct! Let me finish getting things set up. I'm also coordinating with JacobJ on "The List" and it's handling. And hopefully on assisting him with some back-end forum work to update/upgrade some things he's been wanting to do around here, which should be fun!

just out of curiosity, is there any interest in adding "category" or "industry" to the company database?

There's a handful of companies that might specialize in a certain area - I.E., medical shops, or phone shops. This would take longer to review and update and not all companies specialize but could be helpful for shoppers who might only want to focus on certain specialties.

Another question, for companies that have gone through a merger and acquisition, its not completely clear if they still offer mystery shopping or have pivoted to doing things like merchandising instead. Does anyone have interest in digging a little deeper into companies like this to see if they still do shops?

I think it would be very difficult to define industries for most MSCs. Their clients often vary from one area of the country to another. It reminds me of the grade-school story about a committee writing a description of an elephant. One person touched the tail and described it as snake-like. Another touched the leg and said that it was like a large tree. The trunk became a fire hose. There were others. That is how MF and IPSOS would end up, maybe worse depending upon what happened to be on their boards in each area. For ath Power and Pinnacle, I think the answer would be financial / banks, but that is based upon what I personally see.

I reported results for every company on the "active" list below. If they merged or changed names, I looked to see if the merger partner or newly named company appeared to be doing mystery shopping. I reported what I found.

We can keep it simple and just list the names/websites, people can make their own notes about the companies as they wish.

While the industry(ies) that a MSC specializes in could be difficult to pin down -- not to mention very subject to change -- one thing that *might* help is if we could have a column for when a MSC was last known to be active?

Even if we didn't have that for every single MSC (there is a lot of them!), it might be a nice thing to have. If anyone wanted to ever take that on. Just an idea.

I do wish there was a better way to manage some of these - there were a few companies that looked like they operated in say, Texas only, so being able to make some notes would be helpful. I think if its in a google sheet people can download it and add their own notes. That's probably what I'll do. If everyone adds notes it might result in a lot of clutter.

Storm, just so you know, I've made updates to previous posted lists as I've gained more information.

Are you able to post the partial lists of MSCs, using the Sassie and iSecretShop platforms, which were generously provided by myst4au?

I could really use a/some/several volunteers to provide accurate URLs for a portion of the lists Please message me if you are willing.

Ah that's right -- I'll do a tab for "MSC's by Platform", add those to the sheet.

Plus will re-check the earlier letters!

And yes -- please anyone who can help with verifying URL's it would be totally awesome!!!

I wish this forum had an "@everyone" thing like discord does..... every single person would be aware this and the previous message existed!

I just tried the URL that I have on file, and it did not work. About 2 weeks ago, it did work. It might be a temporary problem at the SASSIE site.
