Phone storage shops

Has anyone here had trouble getting a reversal on their credit card? I've done close to 80 of these and no problems, until now. The shopping company is not helping either. They're supposed to be Intelligent about this but they are not.

The storage facility wants to mail me the check. They said it may take 2 to 7 weeks. It’s been 5. The instructions state to send them a pre written letter. They did not care and were set on mailing a check for the administrative fee. Yes I was partially reimbursed the first month, and the lock. I explained this to the shopping firm. And no response after four emails.

I was thinking about doing one of these. I thought the refund was immediate. Did you conact the corporate office?
The refund is usually immediate. Once you cancel on the same day, they do credit your card, but two locations have not done that for me. I'm surprised really because I have done over 50 of these. If I contact corporate, I don't want to risk myself getting sued.
I need to speak to someone higher than the scheduler at Intellishop. If someone knows who to contact, please let me know.
My first one hasn't gone well. They didn't call me back. They had an issue at the location that prevented from renting units at the location or even allowing people inside. They rented me a unit at another location but I never received the receipt. I called to get it sent to me the next day. Got it. Now I am concerned about getting it canceled since it's not the same day sad smiley. I've talked with four different people at the location, and now I still have to call back and cancel. Ugh.
One last thing. I am surprised at size of the the survey form. ~40 questions at least a 1/3 of which are narrative.
@larueda992 Thank you for sharing your recent experience with the storage phone shops. Did this ever get resolved?

I was considering doing these shops since the fee seems to be higher than in the past, but was apprehensive.

Well, no it has not been resolved. I did about 60-80 (all but, 2 locations gave me partial reversals). Their explanation was that the admin fee had to be via check. I have contacted the mystery shopping firm. They don't care. They don't respond. I mean two months is a long time not to receive the check. There's no excuse for this when the reversal should be a same day thing. I just filed a dispute with the credit card company. I don't know if that will do any good as they can contest the charges. Either way, I might have to accept that I have lost $80 total. I don't recommend these, although there's a 1 out of 50 chance, losing money by giving the credit card number freely does not justice. Good luck though. What the shopping company should do is follow up with the storage company and support the shopper. There really is no excuse for this.
I did two, and it looks like they only refunded about $80 of the $120ish amount on both of them. sad smiley

They only paid $15! Glad I stopped at two.

Spoke with the storage company's main call center. They said they will contact the individual locations and request they refund the full amount. We'll see.
Well, keep us informed if that works for you. Just to let you know, I disputed the charges with my credit card company 10 days ago and they were denied. Some of these storage facilities got strict policies about not refunding the security deposit after a certain amount of time. So with that said, the credit card company will not back the customer. Like I said I did call on the same day for the reversal, but their word against mine.

So really nobody else here has had problems with Intellishop? I did not mention the storage facility's name so I guess it's safe to mention the shopping firm. This is the worst experience I have had with a mystery shopping company since way back in 2000 with National Shopping Service out of California (now defunct) owed shoppers lots of money for their Golden Arches client. I got paid 6 months later back then. With over 20 years of shopping, this is a first. The lesson I learned here is to not give my credit card freely on the phone even if they say charges will be reversed.
I spoke with the storage company and they said that there was an update to their software that is causing this. They told me how to make sure that you get a full refund. I let the scheduler know. Hopefully, they will update the guidelines. I'm going to try it again. I will not accept a reversal unless it is via this method that was not in the guideline.

I'm really sorry to hear that your credit card refused the chargeback. I didn't even know that they would do that. Sucks!
So did I. Just today. It took 3 months. As for the other one, the credit card company credited my account, but they still have the case open.
Congrats. We had to fight for our money. Are you still considering doing these shops? They dropped the fee from $15 to $12. I used to do them for $20 in 2021. Then, in 2022 , it was $15.

I hadn't done one since. Even though I know how to get my money refunded 100% now, I still have shell shock.
They are advertising $25 ATM. I may do one if I have extra time and the inclination but that's looking bleak.
