I have used a program called SnagIt for years. It allows capturing any portion of a screen, and can even be set to "scroll" so that multiple pages can be captured at once. Images can be saved as PDF or JPG, and maybe others as well. It also has editing tools and the ability to draw a line (as thick as you want) over an area you want to obscure. I think that there is a free version. I began using it about 20 years ago and gladly pay modest fees for periodic updates.
If all you want to do is to capture all or part of a screen, then HBIGDADDY is right - the Snip tool which is a part of Windows will work fine. I use it when I happen to be on someone else's PC or at a computer in a hotel. Here are the simple instructions direct from Microsoft:
"To use the Snipping Tool when you have a mouse and a keyboard:
Press Windows logo key + Shift + S. The desktop will darken while you select an area for your screenshot.
Rectangular mode is selected by default. ...
The screenshot is automatically copied to your clipboard."
