I have no problem taking a selfie in front of a store. Doing it tomorrow.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
I had no problem--the instructions did not say to include a face or even how much of me to put in selfie.
A selfie - picture, video, or voice recording - is an absolute no for me. If the MSC or Client isn't willing to trust my word... Nope.
I did an apartment shop today and while I was waiting for the target I noticed a 5" x 7" framed document titled: "Media Consent" that read:

"All residents, visitors and guests, while in common areas, give Owner, management company, their employees, agents, subsidiaries and authorized vendors the right to record their image and/or voice, and grant Owner and management company all rights to use these sound, still, or moving images in any and all media, now or hereafter known, and for any purpose whatsoever.

A release to Owner, management company, their employees, agents, subsidiaries and authorized vendors is granted for all rights to exhibit this work in all media, including electronic form, publicly or privately. The rights, claims or interest controlling the use of identity or likeness in the sound, still or moving images is waived and any uses described herein may be made without compensation or consideration."

Needless to say, I was very uncomfortable and started looking around for cameras and other recording devices. And what will stop them from sharing the images or full video coverage of a shopper to their sister properties once they get the report back and have identified the shopper?
I don't have a problem with the selfie but after reading the guidelines, it just seemed to be too much to remember and I was afraid I wouldn't hit all of the points and then not get paid. I still have one assigned to me to test it out. If I feel up to it, I will do it tomorrow and see how it goes. If it goes ok, they can just sit there until they increase the price. There are definitely a lot of them and nobody seems interested in doing them.

Could it be that not many shoppers want to take a selfie in front a storefront?

Could it be that many shoppers are realizing the shop is too much work for the base pay?

That would be me. I don't even like doing a selfie for the yellow gas station shops but at least they only want to see the vest.
I can only speak for myself when I say that I had no problems with doing the shop or with the base pay. Before the selfie requirement, the only problem I had was the 15 shop per month restrictions.
It is also strange that the selfie with the storefront has to show your visible face, not sunglasses or disguises. However, the same MSC, does not make that requirement on the oil shops that require a selfie. You only need to show you safety vest being worn. That selfie is not a facie.
I have the glasses that change every time you get out in the sun.. And I love them.

I can not see anything without them...

So just three days after this thread is started, I get an e-mail that states:

"Now through Feb 16, we're paying $25"

Interesting that IPSOS realized they were stagnating on the board too. Unfortunately, the only dates for these near me are today and tomorrow, the 11th and 12th.

Still not enough. Sorry.
Lol--good point, and your comment made me chuckle.

How will the MSC know if they are real glasses or sunglasses?

Thanks smiling smiley
They will not know if they are prescription or not. But if questioned you can tell them or put it in the final comments to alert the editor that you wear prescription sunglasses or transitional lens glasses.
Did anyone else notice that a lot of these phone shops were available in their area after the email about the bonus was sent out, but then hardly any were left late last night? Yesterday morning there were over 25 left within 20 miles of my zip and all with a Feb 12 deadline, but the email said now through Feb 16. I did four and by the time the Super Bowl was over, which was past the time any of them could've been done that day, there were 18 left and all still had Feb 12 as the deadline.

I checked the board about 3 hours later or around midnight eastern and only one was left and the deadline had changed to Feb 13. It is possible that someone picked up 17 for today, but it doesn't seem very likely. I checked a few large cities in my time zone this morning and found that there were 5 or less within 20 miles, but some northeast areas still had 20 or more.
They were all set with 1 or 2 days depending on channel and are now being extended in my area
Heywave,

I saw, as I posted above, even though the e-mail said the 15th the due dates in my area were all the 12th. Neither of them are available today. So did someone do BOTH of them over the weekend or did IPSOS just pull them incomplete?

Is this one of those situations that they needed a certain number nationwide and once that number was reached, they pulled the rest?

Inquiring minds want to know.
@wrosie Around 7 am central I went to Presto and it showed all of the shops that had disappeared from Sassie, but all of them had a due date of 2/12 and you couldn't change the date.

Later this morning around 10 all of the phone shops reappeared in Sassie for my area with what I thought was today's date as the deadline, but when I checked just now, it has from 2/13 thru 2/14. All 18 or 19 were there at the beginning of the day with only one taken.

My guess is they are keeping tight leashes on the date to perform the shop to minimize the chances of flakes or if someone flakes at this stage, they still have a few days to get others to do them.

Friday they will start a new round of these shops for the same model at the same locations at the base rate. I don't know if you are restricted if you have already shopped that store, but how could you reasonably go back to those locations and inquire about the same phone again without looking like a mental patient.

One of the other markets I checked on went from 1 bonused phone store last night to 25 showing this evening.

.

One of the things I always do with phone shops is ask what days the person I'm talking to is working so they can get credit or commission for the sale.

The big blue box store with the yellow price tag, they don't work on commissions, but that doesn't matter. I tell them I've already spent time with them and don't want to start all over.

Then you can always go when that person isn't working. Just a thought.
Not sure if these are the same ones I usually do; I haven't had to take a selfie. But the biggest issue I see with all of their technology shops is the low fee. At least for the ones I see on the job board.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I received an email from IPSOS telling me that lots of these shops were available in my area and that the frequency requirements were temporarily removed for this month. Then, on 2/16, all of the bonus shops were removed, literally when I was creating a route for them! Now, only the base rate shops ($16) are available....I think I will wait until the end of the month.

@salisburync I saw an email go out last Saturday (2/11) about the shops getting a $9 bonus and had a deadline of 2/16. Are you talking about that email? On Saturday I was only able to assign them for either 2/11 or 2/12 and Sunday only had a that day claim which contradicted the -- now through the 16th get a $9 bonus email. Then on Monday the 13th they "released" the bonused shops again where you could only assign them for that day and it was a same day claim every day until the last day to do the bonus shops of the 16th.

It must've been very late on the 16th when you were creating a route for the bonused shops. I saw those shops as late as 6pm central on the 16th on the Job Board. They were still $25 pins on Presto on Friday (17th) , but you couldn't assign them since the 16th had passed.

On the 13th or 14th they released new non bonused Electronic Mystery Shops for $16 that had a start day of the 17th. Yesterday these shops had a new start date of sometime next week and it has since been revised so you can do them today.

The $12.00 Technology shop is not the same one and does not require a selfie.

I don't do the $12 one, but I haven't done the $16 one in probably a year, so I wonder if the selfie requirement was added....
