Mercantile systems- Bill

Did anyone get an email from Mercantile Systems about Bill.com? I didn't know if it was a legit email or a phishing one.

Mercantile does use Bill.com but some scammers impersonate legitimate MSCs. When in doubt, contact a legitimate MSC directly (and not through any link in a questionable email). Mercantile is usually pretty good in responding to shoppers in a timely manner.
Mercantile mails physical checks unless you use BILL.COM to get direct deposit. You can email them and the accounting person can send you an invite if you are worried about a phishing scam.
Thanks for the advice! I reached out to mercantile and they said it was a real email. I have signed up with bill.com.
I have been looking up information online about a check they want me to deposit into my banks mobile app, just to be extra safe i think ill call in the morning to put my mind at ease, I'm just confused as to why they would want me to deposit a check when i haven't doine any work or received any instructions on the job for that matter.
Without knowing more specifics, I can't be sure, but this seems to have scam written all over it. Unless you did a shop for them that you forgot about, run away from this.

If you didn't do any work for them and the check is for a sizeable amount (usually) and they want you to deposit it and buy gift cards or money orders or something else and keep some for yourself, this is a classic scam. The check will take a few days to bounce, and your bank will want all of the money back. If you got this via USOS, report it to the US Postal Inspector. You will be one of the thousands to do so.

Edited to add: If they gave you a phone number to call with any questions, that number is likely to be part of the scam. They will tell you it is fine. Call the mystery shopping company directly, or go to their website directly, not from a link you might have been sent as part of the scam.
