Watchout for EYES BEHIND THE BAR

Hello everyone! I have been shopping for almost a year now and never got stiffed with payment from a company until recently. I did a shop in the beginning of November 2007 for Eyes Behind The Bar, yep, and sure enough to this day I have not received payment. I cannot count on two hands how many times I called the guy and asked about payment and everytime he says "I sent it, it must have got lost", "I will send another payment", he was even adding a $10 bonus for the delay. Hmmmm, I still haven't received this payment. It must still be floating in the postal system. PLEASE, don't get stiffed like me, if Joe sends you an email asking for you to do a shop, PLEASE SAY NO! He sent me a request through ShadowShopper.

You're an indep contractor. You can take them to Small Claims Court. Usually the summons from Small Claims Court is enough to get them to pay, and you don't have to carry through..
Thank you for the heads up. Never heard of these guys but have put them on my list of companies in the "Have not signed up with" category with a note. Laws differ from state to state. In some areas non-payment for services rendered can be handled by your State's Attorney office. If you know what the law is in your state you can give Joe a call and tell him that you need to see your payment by [a date 3-5 business days in the future] or you will be filing a complaint under [your state] [whatever the legislation is called] with the [whatever department is that handles it]. In my area filing Small Claims is around a $250 proposition so hardly worth the hassle even though the loser is supposed to pay the fees.
You can also threaten to file with the BBB...it doesn't cost you anything to file, and this will serve as a warning to others considering doing business with them.
