Ipsos "Early Bird Pricing"

I rarely read the mass Ra ra emails from and about Ipsos but on this one occasion, I did. Apparently they've got a brand new webinar system that you can pay for and take advantage right now of the early bird pricing. Really?

Ses,

Pay for? I've watched a couple of their webinars, but they've never charged me any money for them. The last one I signed out early because it was just stuff for beginners, how to sign up and fill out your profile, how to take the tests, wasn't anything that I've thought hard about in 10 years..

If I'm not going to be out working I'll watch one. It's kinda fun listening to the lies about how they are there to help us, and we can send emails to the dead letter drop email address, or contact the schedulers that they only assign after most of the jobs are gone. Maybe I should look closer at the next webinar email I get..
From the email:

"The iShopFor Ipsos team is cooking up lots of great stuff this month, including extended early bird pricing on Talking Shop, a new on-demand webinar and more. See what's new!"

I feel like it won't be long before they ask us for money to become a "Preferred shopper."
That doesn’t bode well for the future of mystery shopping. Might be time to think more seriously about "early" retirement. Even though I kinda wanted to hold out for a couple more years until I turn 65.

Wonder why I didn’t get that email?

The email was 5/13 with subject line "Extra, Extra, read all about it." It was the first "news" item. Maybe it went to your spam, (where it should be).
Yeah, it looked like the Early Bird pricing had something to do with a shopper event they are hosting. They're offering a VIP rate and a "regular" rate, with a chunk knocked off for "early birds".
I see. I hadn't clicked on the link and read it as the on-demand webinar was the Talking shop event. Either way - not for me.
I got that one on Saturday, but did not look past the first item - because I was shocked to find out the feature person at the top of the email had "over 18 years in the Mystery Shopping Industry..." I would have believed 18 minutes. And now I find out from @sestrahelena there was more comedy.
I wonder how many folks are going to fall for it.

According to the email which I found in my trash, it says access and certification for an ongoing audit program. Does that mean that they are going to make us re-qualify for some of the audits that we are doing? Do we have to pay to get access to the audits that we are already doing now? Retirement just seems so tempting right now.
Ipsos Shop First is basically, let's see who will accept these low ball rates. We won't even employ schedulers. So if there's any issues on sight. Your on your own. Because their shopper support will take at least a day to respond. Cut old rates in half, then expect you to jump right on them. I scoff at that noise. Some have cobwebs they been on the board so long. And there they shall remain. Until they start paying equitable rates again.
David,

I have speculated several times on I shop first program, that it's purely for eliminating the need to pay schedulers. At first it was just for the first few weeks before the bonuses started. And now they are adding bonuses and still leaving the shops on the I shop first program. I think that either one of the gas stations or one of the restaurants that they recently acquired, last quarter never got any scheduler at all, even when they were heavily bonused to get the last ones done.

They ignore most emails on the mailbox that they tell everybody to email their questions to. The phone number if it is checked, it's never responded to. I don't try and call, I hate talking on the phone, so that part doesn't really bother me. And now they've eliminated all but a few of their schedulers, and the ones that are working, have had their pay cut drastically.

I don't really even want to think about not having schedulers, especially with all the strange glitches in the programming.

Of course that may also be one of the things that will change in their "audit program" that they are going to charge us for access to?

I won't be paying to attend their program. For me, if the price is still low balled, I scoff at it and drive right past. Until they pay a decent wage. Their offers can sit sit for years. I won't debase myself. Plenty of other viable MSCs who reward shoppers professionalism.
