BARE have you lost your mind cause I'll help you find it

I was checking out the boards and came across an assignment that pays a whopping $5 for a tour. They reimburse the cost of said tour. You must make certain observations and take pictures and if possible, you can leave after an hour.

Not sure how you would make an early getaway 60 minutes in since the tour is out in the middle of nowhere.

Who could pass up the opportunity to make less than $5 in an hour?

Qhat am I missing?

How much does the tour cost normally? If this is an opportunity to pick up a shop while on vacation or for a tour that the shopper would otherwise love to experience regardless of the shop, it might be worth the shoppers time.
I don't think its much different from shoppers picking up a restaurant shop for a reimbursement only meal - some shoppers might see it as a nice discount instead of a money making venture.

But I get what you're saying - it's like a constant game of "how low can you go" when looking at shopper fees these days.
The sad part of the situation is that some fees are actually lower than when I entered the business in 2003. This, of course, is due to shoppers accepting the drop in pay. I do not criticize any MSC that is able to lower their expenses. It is the responsibility of self-employed contractors to monitor their profitability.

Although I do not understand some folks reasoning, a classic example were the Shell shops. A company with a market cap of 1/5th+ a trillion dollars, paying $12.50 and requiring 25 pics. I am an advocate of the adage that "one person's meat could be another's poison." To paraphrase Clara Peller though, "Where's the meat?"
Yes of course, in this case of the Bare shop the devil is in the details. A few years ago I did a tour shop. It was the very best time I have had in years. I was reimbursed hundreds of dollars for a tour I and my family never would have taken on my own dime due to the cost. The report was pretty straight forward. Pics were needed but I had lots of pics I took anyway as the surroundings were stunning.
They have to cut shopper pay so they can pay for the extra managers like Tasha and Misty. Schedulers don’t hardly get paid either. What does Tasha actually do but tell schedulers what to do?
Yeah if it's a fun touristy tour I can see where it might be considered worthwhile for the reimburse. Of course "tour" can mean a lot of things, like "touring" an assisted living facility. OP didn't specify what's meant by "tour." I'd be dead and in hell before I'd tour a senior living complex for $5, lol.
Bare's payment system with Tipalti is an absolute scam - they take a chunk out of your shopper pay for the transaction fee. I'm making an effort not to work with them because of this.
I get paid what I am owed. Although they may pay a fee it doesn't come out of my expected payments.
You are not signed up for the right payment method if you are paying a large fee out of your pay. In the US you have to opt for Direct Deposit (ACH?) and in Canada an e-cheque in order to not pay a fee.

Speaking of Tipalti, does anyone know how to log in as a payee and change your direct deposit info? The account I have listed with them to pay to is now closed. And the freaking Tipalti website has to be the most difficult and frustrating to navigate that I have ever seen.

Yeah why is our pay lower than it was like 20 years ago? I’m sure with the cost of living the managers are all making more. It costs me more to work like gas and repairs to my car. Plus people are driving more scary than ever. Is any of this worth it? I’m starting to wonder. But I’m too old to start a new career but companies are just being jerks. There should be a union so our pay isn’t below minimum wage here. And a union for companies who like to accept shops, use them them just don’t pay and see if you notice. Then when you contact them they tell you they excluded a perfect scores shop and make up reasons. They figure if they lose a shopper over a couple hundred in pay oh well. Do msc realize if there were no shoppers you wouldn’t have a company? You can get by with less of your high paid managers.
