DJC Mystery Shopping - who are they?

I got a payment recently from DJC for a fast food shop. But the thing is...I never completed this shop? It was for a fast food company that I've never shopped before. I tried Googling DJC but I couldn't find a specific website for them (it seems they post on Presto maybe?). I'm happy to take this payment, but it doesn't match up with any of my completed shops. Does anyone have a link or contact for them so that I could check out what's going on?

Did you check the MSC spreadsheet? I think it's the new name of an older company and I think the spreadsheet has those listed.
[www.sassieshop.com] Could you have done a job for them through like Gigspot, ISS, or another company like these?

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
@Jennycolada, I reached out to a contact I have at DJC to see if he can help. I copy and pasted your post into the email I sent him. I'll let you know what he says.
Wondering if this were another MSC with a changed name, I followed the link provided by ARK and learned I had signed up 18 yrs. ago, but had never received any mail. They are as much a mystery with me as with the OP.
Same here..found out I signed up in 2005, but looks like I haven't ever performed a shop for them. At least none are showing. It references Surf Merchants, whatever that is or was. Wasn't it a platform? I bet they were called something else.

Thanks to The Bee for the link to comments concerning DJC. Now I understand why they were a mysterious company to me. Upon reading the old thread, I was surprised at a single post:

Rousseau, but probably a hacker, stated--I just do shops for them because they are such nice people.
I miss the magazine!

They do the thin crust pizza joint and the burger joint that always has drive-thru lines that back up into the street.
I am in the Bay Area of CA if that helps. They send me emails, I have never seen a job board for them.
Yes, they do the huge West Coast (now expanding east) burger chain. They do not pay like five guys for their burger shops. They are a solid company and pay quickly and reliably. They have built relationships with their shoppers and they usually reach out to shoppers directly with assignments. They do not want to bother posting shops (but they do occasionally) and having shoppers flake on them.

I'm not aware of them posting shops on the other platforms other than Sassie.

This was my thought, but the note says it’s a payment for a popular CA fast food chain which I haven’t eaten at (shop or not) in years. So there’s no chance of me even having completed this shop elsewhere.

I guess it’s fine? I mean it was only like $15 payment. But I hate to think someone else is missing that reimbursement. And it was a good reminder to update my own receipt/payment tracker!
After checking out the posted link, I am curious. So, what happened to Irene and BGriffin? Haven't heard a peep from either of them.

Hi Jenny. Try writing hdeast@hotmail.com. That is one of the older schedulers for them and I am sure they would be happy to check into that for you - as well as offer you more work.
Irene decided to not drive into LA proper for shops anymore quite a few years ago and kept saying she was ready to quit mystery shopping. After saying that several times she finally disappeared so I guess she finally took her own advice.

So in other words, if you're not already in their "circle of trust," there's no way to prove yourself and get in? Since the job board is generally empty?
I have a friend who only shops for this company. He is not really interested in shopping that much, but likes 2 of their clients enough that he will do it for them. I recommended him and they like the work he does, so he keeps getting assignments.

The point is, you can get yourself added to the rotation, but they don't really post anything on Sassie like nearly all of the other Sassie MSC. They use the job board as a "last resort." They are very "hands on" and meticulous in assigning shops. It's certainly not the most efficient way to operate, but I guess they would rather know the job is going to be done and be done correctly than to have a bunch of flakes or re-shops. They do not do the volume that IPSOS or the other mega-MSC handle.

Doesn't really address what I'm talking about. "The point is, you can get yourself added to the rotation ..." OK, how? By "knowing someone" like your friend? By writing them a really sweet and persuasive cover letter? I'm not seeing how somebody outside the "walled city" gets in.

Just apply on the SASSIE site and send an email to Jeff. His email is listed above in a different post.
Pay is minimal, but they pay almost immediately. I don't really eat fast food, so I rarely shop for them much. I generally give the food away.
These are really nice folks. The pay is not much, but I like the food and the shops are really easy and so is the report. When they reach out, they offer all the shop info and give you a window of usually 5 days, so it's easy to stop and do the shop on your way somewhere.
They are a small company. They are a solid one. I have worked for them for years. They only have a few clients.
