KSS phase out

From a recent job posting email:

"Changes Coming Soon!

KSS CEO/Owner, Lorri Kern will be stepping away from the mystery shopping industry and KSS will be phased out in the coming months. Mackensie Kern and Nola Penny will be taking on the KSS scheduling business and have formed their own company, Acculocity! Same familiar names, just with a new name and new website.

Soon, shop postings will be coming from the new email address HSScheduler@acculocity.com Please save us to your address book! "

I received a very rude and dismissive email from LK recently--I wonder what is going on.
Maybe she is just ready to retire/move on as stated above. KSS has been around a long time. Being a business owner can be a 24/7 job.

I hope she is moving on to better things. She is an awesome person.

Generational transition is a normal thing. What is odd about this is that Kern name is being retired in favor of an invented name that means nothing and is not easy to pronounce. May they have wiser business decisions down the road.
I understand your point. However, is Penny is 50% partner now with the daughter, maybe they want a "fresh" name to start with. Wondering it it's a combination of accuracy and velocity and they came up with acculocity. Just my initial guess.

Perhaps they used the people that come up with the new drug names to come up with their new name?

Ask your doctor about Acculocity!
Do not take Acculocity if you're pregnant or if you plan to become pregnant. Side effects can include hair loss, muscle weakness, nausea, vomiting and death in rare cases.
I like it when they tell you not to take it if you're allergic to it. How do you know you'd be allergic to it?

I'll only take Acculocity if it gives me the urge to gamble

LK has long been, well, to put it plainly, ...NASTY....

I haven’t had any interactions with her, but can you give an example of her being nasty?
If someone is paying attention they will likely get a cease and desist.

IMO, "Acculocity" is too similar to "Aculocity" (the software company).

Maybe. It mainly depends on how litigious Aculocity is. Totally different industries and I don't think they sued Acculocity (an upholsterer in MA).

I'm waiting for the disclaimers on side effects.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

Too bad Mackensie is not going to do something she loves instead of taking over the business. ???? I don’t think her heart has ever been it it. As for Penny, it’s never been a secret I think she is the worst scheduler in the world. I will NEVER do a shop she is involved with and especially one she gets any money off of. Honestly she should be the one put out to pasture. Too bad Mackensie is stuck with her.
LOL. Who shat in your oatmeal?

Too bad we don't get to see the schedulers blast particular shoppers. I'm not saying these complaints against schedulers are not valid, but I have been shopping since mid 2000s and I really cannot remember having any bad experiences with any of the schedulers that are put on blast regularly on these forms.

I think my personal bad experiences are more with a few MSC rather than the individual schedulers.
I’ve had both. Been shopping since the late 80’s. I’m really good at what I do. I go above and beyond when needed and help out when I can. Some schedulers don’t appreciate that and some are just bad at their job. Because MSPs are desperate to fill shops they sometimes will keep using bad schedulers. I just work around them. My issue with MSPs usually involve pay. Don’t mess with my money. I’ve been burned by a couple MSPs and now I don’t let any company owe me more than I’m comfortable writing off. Luckily there are plenty of them so I can have a constant flow of work without putting too much on the line.
When the Volition forum was in existence, there was a scheduler's area.shoppers were not permitted to access. Once, there was a glitch AND I hit the wrong button; I was granted entrance. Folks, you would need to have read the negative comments posted by a few to fully grasp the meaning of ridicule.

On a related note, a few yrs. back a scheduler, departing the business, shared my name was in a black book of shoppers to avoid.
The reason to avoid you would have been you charge more than they wanted to pay. Not because you were drama.

Yeah, I remember that part of Volition. It would be cool if the Volition administrator would "dump" that data on here for us to see.
I've been shopping a similar length of time (mid-2000s), but I have only had one shop that really went to hell in a handbag and the issue wasn't with the scheduler, but it was with the editor.

edit - meant as a response to hbbigdaddy but apparently didn't click the right button.

The pill metaphor above is hilarious. OMGosh!!! I haven't stopped laughing!

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
The new site says Nevada, which has a whole different set of rules. So are they only scheduling Nevada?

I've dealt with worse schedulers elsewhere, but every other scheduler at KSS whom I have dealt with has been substantially better, even the mediocre ones.
I have seen both from them. I am licensed Nevada shopper, but I have seen some stuff here in California too. Car wash and Mexican restaurant. Also, I think the "mall pizza place"
