What is the purpose of the exit selfie?

Just so odd to me with the Crustacean shop...you already have to take multiple pics inside and out, and provide a receipt AND pics of the food on said receipt. How could you not be there? So what are they doing with my picture?
Anybody ever make funny faces for the one that require face? Was it accepted? Were you scolded? I always want to but...
I honestly think they're doing it to test facial recognition software in the hopes of catching shoppers doing work under more than one account. Why else would they go to the trouble of saying your ENTIRE face has to be uncovered? Wearing sunglasses doesn't interfere with location verification, but it does with facial recognition software.

Just sayin'.

I don't know about more than one account, but it could be to keep folks from phoning in the shops, or getting someone else to do them?
That's plausible for the cell phone shops, but a stretch for the red crusty.

I would love for this MSC to come clean on why they're doing it. I was amazed when they owned up to the fact that it was their requirement and had nothing to do with the client. Too bad we have no leg to stand on in the "I own the rights to my likeness, and I'm entitled to know how it's being used" argument.

Who knows - maybe this MSC has an AI division, and they're using us all as free crash test dummies.

I wouldn't put it past 'em.

Free crash test dummies? That's kind of mean to say about an MSC for apparently no reason. I do a lot of business with them, and I am blessed for the revenue they provide me. They do have strange "requirements" at times, but you don't have to speak this way about them. Just sayin'. Just my opinion.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.

When they tell me why they're using my photo for apparently no reason, I'll revise my statement.

I'm glad you've had such great experiences and view them favorably, Ark. As the saying goes, my mileage has varied.

I think it is pretty obvious they use is for fraud prevention. To prevent people from getting other people to do them, to prevent employees from doing them, to prevent people from making multiple accounts, to prevent offshore scammers from faking the shops, etc. $75 is a good chuck of money, and the payout is quick. I don't see any mystery. It's easier to have an editor quickly check a selfie than to go dig up security footage and cross reference receipts.

What would the editor check against? Do they ask for the driver's license, too? It would seem that unless they had an identity document to check against, they would still have to dig up security footage.

Not sure how obvious it is...since on my last shop I had my dining partner take the selfie and it wasn't questioned.
ArkLA-You are naive to believe that IPSOS is a warm and fuzzy company and that you are blessed to be working for them!
