I've done some phone / internet shops for Bestmark. You might try there. They're for car dealership - pose as someone looking for a new car.
I'd avoid Bestmark if you have a pulmonary condition. My blood pressure soars every time I deal with them......

Many companies have available phone phone shops. Best use of your time if you are home bound would be making sure you are signed up with every MSC out there. That way, once you are mobile, you will make more $$ than you ever will with phone shops alone.
I agree with Steve, avoid Bestmark......Person to Person has nice phone jobs, and are great to work for. Good luck!

I'm surprised you say that Irene. I've always gotten paid right away and have never had any issues with Bestmark.
Can either Steve or Irene LA please elaborate on why to avoid Bestmark? I just did my first shop and have not yet been paid. There was some back and forth about clarifications after my report, but since it was my first I did not think anything about it and the editor was nice when I apologized and promised less edits for future reports letting her know it was both my first report for that client and Bestmark.

I agree with Irene on this one for sure. Person to Person is a great company and have phone shops that pay pretty good considering it is a phone shop. I have met my quota for them and can't do anymore for a while.
I will keep my post short, as I have written (in depth) personal experience here before. I feel their pay range the lowest for the amount of work. I need to see what restaurants I will be doing, and they hold the good ones hostage. I have asked them numerous times to stop sending their barage of emails for jobs in an area I do not shop, no one listens. Cory is nice, but that isn't enough. I de-activated and was relieved to do so, enough?? Having said that, to each his/her own.

I regularly do phone shops for Bestmark and MarketForce. Other MSPs occasionally have phone shops as well ~ Bare, Mystery Shoppers Inc, aTH, Strategic Reflections and I'm sure others that I'm forgetting. I enjoy good relationships with each of these companies. So far. Although, having a good relationship with them does not necessarily mean that they have shops I'm interested in. They've just never done me wrongsmiling smiley
My reasons for avoiding Bestmark are similar to Irene's; Low pay for lots of work and the scheduler's use of plum jobs to sell the horrible ones.

They generally pay in a very timely fashion, but Bestmark is also the only MSC that has ever 'stiffed' me for a job performed properly (a dining shop with a receipt that was 1-hour off time the day after a DST time change).

They no longer have enough quality jobs to put up with the downside, IMHO.
I've had very good experiences with BestMark. I guess it's like they say, your mileage may vary.
I enjoy working for Bestmark. They're definitely not the highest paying but they are fair and pay very quickly and reliably. I use their shops to fill in routes often. I notice that both shoppers complaining about them appear to be from CA - perhaps this is an issue with that region's scheduler?
Their cost of living is likely a lot higher than it is where many of us live, too.

Is that blue or purple side? I've never seen a phone shop from them.

Another really good point - I can easily come in under reimbursement for a $25 lunch shop and usually a dinner shop only costs me the price of drinks out of pocket. I know I couldn't say the same on either coast.

I do phone shops for the blue.
I think in CA it's mostly crappy clients.

When I started with Bestmark many years ago, they had great dining clients and paid an average fee with generous reimbursement. Every single one of those restaurant has either moved elsewhere or discontinued their program.

What's left are really work intensive jobs that pay around $10 and offer little or no reimbursement. Add to that the time/cost of travel in LA and it becomes one of the least desirable MSCs out there.
Regarding telephone shops ~ if time allows, and you have a generous cell phone plan, search areas outside your radius. Way outside your radius. When an MSP has phone shops in your area, they may also have them in other States.
I keep getting emails from ShoppersView for phone shops. Does anyone know if you have to fill out a report after you make the call? I totally messed one up a while back with CRI as after I hung up with the client I pushed the wrong button on my phone and could not hear our conversation, so of course I could not fill out the report. So, do all the MSC require a report to fill out? Glad I found this thread as I was emailed 4 already today 3 from ShoppersView and I would need to go back and look but I believe it was Kerns. I don't want to spend alot of time on the phone and then have to fill out a report for measly dough.
Thanks!
The ShoppersView shops are recorded. The one I did, there were three questions, no narrative. It's easy to knock off a bunch in an hour's time. That's one of the reasons they go like hotcakes.

To the best of my recollection, there are, but they're short.
