ATH POWER BUSINESS CENSUS

Did any of you out there complete the business census in June? I was told payment would be sooner than their "regular" payment schedule as this was a special project. I see where I am scheduled to be paid but no date as to when that will be. Any thoughts? This was a very time consuming project!

I also have not been paid and I do not have a date for payment on the job board. And yes, this job was very time consuming. With mileage my check should be 698. Also the scheduler Dian Khan has not returned any of my calls. I did get her on the phone once and she said hold and never came back. Have left 3 messages since then. let me know what happens with yours..okay... I have had only one time a company refused to pay out of 6 years of service....but there are recourse's of course but why should I have to do this for services rendered
The job board on my account on their web site shows payment will be made 9/10/11. However this is a Saturday and I doubt they will be paying out on a Saturday. So should this date be Monday 9/12/11? We are not talking about a $10 shop, the business census maps required many days to complete. I did 2 maps and it took me 2 weeks which I could not schedule any other shops.
I completed audits in 2007 and 2008 for them and was paid within 6 weeks. Not the case this time. Even though the money is good, with the time, gas and travel involved plus slow pay, I may not take on any more maps unless I want a Christmas fund!
I completed 118 shops for ATH through the early spring of 2010, but their continued reduction of fees, increasing the report and lengthening of payment time necessitated our parting of ways. Until some MSCs exhaust the supply of shoppers willing to complete considerable work for a meager sum and wait months for payment, which, of course won't occur, the above example will continue; it's called business. I don't in any manner criticize MSCs for taking advantage of a situation; that's business. It's our responsibility as contracting shoppers not to permit ourselves to be abused,
Shopper bob, I not so sure people are allowing any abuse. You live an learn I have shops for them and have not had this problem but then again I do not normally try and contact reps, you do the work they pay it is just that simple. However when one does not get paid in a timely manner nor a respectful then you make a move then. I will not work for them any more. No one takes abuse , you just find out that a company is capable of such manners and move on...I think I mentioned there were recourse that one could take,,,that was a "big" clue that abuse would not be tolerated...and while we are on it. Why would anybody take job that pays only 10 dollars and buy anything and wait 4 weeks to get paid? Your loaning the company money. If anyone wants to make a real case about shopper abuse this is the place to start...raise the pay when you are required to loan the company your money...make sense hope so...I did not and would not do those shops, no one one should so the pay can be properly raised.
I've done the ATH business census in 2011 and 2010. It is quite a bit of work. The pay is $15/hr and .50 per mile. You keep up with and report your own time and mileage. This is the only shop that I've done for them that pays a little slow. Usually takes 60-90 days. My total pay was about, as I recall, $900.00.
You go in with a form and identify yourself to the manager. You have an authorization letter in hand to show, if need be. I regret that I couldn't work this in this year.
ATH is notoriously slow for payment. Three months is the best I've ever gotten out of them. And that's after having been told payment would come sooner than normal. =X
Which company offers these shops? This was formerly a cliet of ATH Powers. I would like to get back to doing Petco.

Please do the work yourself and sign up with as many MSC's that are mentioned here, Volition, and wherever you can find them. Start with the list at the bottom of this page.

That's the beauty of the beast - if you don't like them, you can make the choice to not work for them.

However, I've never had a problem with them. Reports are normal for the jobs I've done with other companies that have similar jobs. Pay is in the same range.

And, it's nice to know I'll be getting the deposit in the future.

If I wanted a job that paid me in 30 days, I'd do work for a different company, or find a real-world part-time job.

I got shorted $125 for missed contacts after I was told to do only the urban area and not the rural. When asked for specifics, DK refused and told me how gracious they were to pay me for mileage. Then she gave me a veiled threat that if I didn't like it, they just wouldn't give me any more shops.
Too late. I'm already done with them. I don't like threats. I do like open communications and an honest 'up front' attitude. I'll knock myself out for a company if I've made a mistake. But don't try to pull a fast one on me by saying nothing and then arbitrarily docking my pay.
