Screwed over by The Consumer Insight

About three weeks ago, a lone $150 assignment for an orange store popped up on the otter/seal app.I was surprised because I had done a whole slew of these jobs 9 months earlier for The Consumer Insight, but I hadn't seen any postings for them since. It seemed odd that a solo listing would pop up out of the blue and for such a generous pay, but I tucked away my cynicism and accepted the job. Since I'd already done the same assignments for the MSC, I felt confident about my work when I submitted my report. Then I waited for two weeks for someone to grade my submission. Crickets. And then, three days ago, I received an email that my submission was declined for not meeting the requirements. I wasn't told what requirements I failed to fulfill. It was just denied. I filed an appeal, but it was denied too. They've ignored all my of emails asking for clarification. I should've known that the listing was too good to be true but I'm still annoyed to have invested about 2 hours of my time on a shop that was never going to be approved.

Perhaps that's why it reappeared. Perhaps it's an editor issue not a shopper issue?
The shop may have been posted accidentally, not needing to be done, and when they realized it, they just rejected the shop. I have had that happen numerous times with another MSC after I've been paid, though. What the purpose is of telling me later that the shop is declined because the client didn't want that location shopped, I don’t know. Not my fault, not my problem. They generously (eye roll) allow me to keep the pay.
I’ve had this happen with 1 or 2 editors at other MSC’s.
When it feels wrong, I reach out to management explaining that I can’t afford to pay to work for them anymore, with supporting documentation.
One turned out to be a chronic non-payor, that had been booted from MSPA for the same so I was better off without them, lesson learned.
The other actually looked into things and discovered there was a problem with an editor that needed some attention and I got an apology, payment, and a bump on my next job.
