New Job Board

There is a new job board out now called ShopQuest. Seems pretty promising. I believe the link is www.ishopquest.com

Hello, Eileen Secret Shopper. Are you affiliated with ShopQuest?
The honest approach would be to disclose that right from the start.
Googling it, I'm getting absolutely nothing about it except their signup page which has a vague suggestion that you will find shops. I like to know about a company before deciding whether it's real or not and they have no kind of introductory/explanatory page. Red flag for me.
After googling the owner of the suggested site, I am not inclined to give my personal information. The owner of the site, Mercedes Eckert, has quite a bit of social media where she claims to make a lot of money mystery shopping. Red flag for me. too.
It looks like ShopQuest wants to be an aggregator. They are also trying to sign up schedulers who would then post shops. I am going to wait.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008

That was my first impression as well. They want to be something like Jobslinger or even Presto, where you can see jobs from multiples MSCs.
I always put complete trust in someone that comes here to create an account and post about this junk within 5 minutes of doing so. Give me a break.
For a scammer they at least seem to have done some extra work, so I guess they're more cunning than than other bozo.

*edit* Checks further. Yup, total scam. Gotta give this grifter your cash first. Ha.

I also believe the original poster must somehow be connected to this...um....new??? website! However, I read their terms and didn't see where giving them money was necessary first. I must have missed it. Could you please direct me to that area of that website, @weatherman??? I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Hey there! I was notified about this thread just now - been a long time since I've been here but glad to be back! ShopQuest is a brand new platform we (iShop) just launched. It is completely free to create an account. I believe the other commenters are referring to our training program for people interested in shopping, that does require a fee. iShop is a company I founded ten years ago that focuses on shopper recruitment and training. We partner with many MSP's to connect them with trained shoppers to help fill their shops. Our focus has been on new shoppers. However, with our recent platform ShopQuest, we now have something beneficial to shoppers already in the industry. Hope that helps explain what we do a little better! Have a wonderful Monday!

You realize we can all see that you just joined today and then posted immediately? Exactly like the previous poster.
Yes! I was notified about this thread via one of our providers - so I made an account to check it out. We have over 17,000 shoppers across the country so I am not familiar with everyone who has made an account here and posted. Just wanted to chime in and I am glad to see that our shoppers are enjoying our new platform. If it's helpful for you great, if not, no worries!

You, as well as the original poster, EileenSecretShopper, have the exact SAME IP! Does this not mean you are both one and the same?? We would really appreciate transparency here on the Forum. Thank you.

It is the "training" thing. Also yeah sure lady, "Mystery Shopping" when you reveal your face and name. Right. You are at least a little smarter than the other scammer who we've delt with before but a scam is a scam.
On 5/10 it was a new board and by 5/12 they had 17,000 shoppers. I'm impressed! (NOT!)

Ah, but they have been selling "training" with the empty promise of access to the good jobs for long enough to generate an actual BBB complaint. So, there's that.

They probably think a posting board will help legitimize their training nonsense. And maybe it will appeal to someone who doesn't do any research whatsoever and has no idea they are paying for things the rest of us get for free?

There are many dishonest ways to make a buck and quite a few gullible people in the world, after all.
Thank you, Moderator!

I wish the entire thread was deleted so someone that comes on this forum don't fall for it and sign up because they saw it here.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Wait, so the mods can see our IP addresses, actual names and locations? Someone please explain, I'm ignorant about cyberstuff. Thank you.
Yeah, that kind of weirded me out too. Not that they can see it -- that is a standard thing for all websites -- but that it would come into moderation.
They don't see your name. They can probably see a general location, like the city you live in.

In addition, most people have a dynamic IP address, which changes regularly.

She is a for-profit company. Of course, she is rich. She sells monthly subscriptions to her stuff.

In my opinion, it is the dumbed-down version of Presto. You cannot search by company; you can only log in through GigSpot (which I will not use). There is no way to search by state, region, or anything else. It looks promising, but is useless in its current state.
