What do you think of Grace Hill?

Lots of you seem to be well seasoned in the industry so I’m looking for opinions and advice! I’ve been mystery shopping for supplemental income for a couple of months now. I have a great full time job at a credit union, but I am barely staying afloat. I saw a full time job posting at Grace Hill that very closely aligns with my current job and experience. I’m thinking of applying. What do you know about their niche? How’s the outlook? Would you work for them?I really enjoyed the MSC I worked with and they’ve been very fair.

I like them. Reports are far more straightforward than EPMS, which Grace Hill now owns.

The community asset jobs are easy for good pay.

I will do onsite apartment shops when the bonuses are big enough.

Just wrapping up a $110 recording onsite report at a totally gorgeous community, and I enjoyed the best apartment presentation yet in 15+ years of doing this stuff.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
I do my very best to NOT think of Grace Hill whenever possible.. I mostly don't do apartment shops any more. They always leave me standing or make me walk further than is possible with my knees and heart, so it was easiest to just stop doing them.
Urgent- Can’t reach my scheduled. Does anyone have a working phone # that isn’t marketing medic alerts for seniors? That’s what 1-800- gracehill goes to in my schedulers signature….basically blowing us off.
Bay Area and CA shoppers beware. They just screwed me out of $1200 worth of approved partially completed work during a planned approved road trip route I invested my own funds in to make happen (gas. Food, lodging) after a written agreement from the scheduler.

I was offered a string of residential assignments along a route from San Francisco to Santa Barbara. The rates were agreed upon and new dates set after that lengthy process due to part time status and overwhelm of the scheduler who knows and trusts my integrity, dependability, and quality of my work. I trusted the follow through would happen. I’m 1/3rd of the way through my route and realized it hadn’t.

I was passed off to another “scheduler” who wasn’t involved in any of the prep, and trusted my regular scheduler had my back.

Instead, the one I was passed off to L Moretti says she would make the updates and instead pulled them all, including the ones I did today, with no call, no text, no care AND blocked me from further work.

You can’t talk to a human at Grace Hill. If you call “support “ it loops into a senior emergency call button device infomercial …no joke. If you call corporate, you’re told to email. Don’t believe me? Give it a try and see what happens.

I have 3 weeks’ worth of emails demonstrating the agreements and that I did my due diligence to get the clarity and needed/promised updates that never happened.

I’ve done more than 50 assignments this year alone for GH and received kudos.

Now I’m out hundreds in expenses and $1200 in fees.

This is wrong, and I’d appreciate any advice about how to address this fairly from anyone who knows how to reach a real person in corporate.

This is a huge market. They should be trying to keep good people, not abuse them.

I never knew they would schedule shops 3 weeks in advance; 3 weeks before one would start on them.
Sounds like your scheduler finally got canned. They weren’t actively trying to fill the assignments and let the pay spike. Then they had one person do all of those shops which risks losing the client. The ‘Shadow Agency’ isn’t going to explain this to you because they view you and other ICs as disposable. So basically you got Ipshitzed.
I requested an apartment tour at $85 pay on Tuesday morning and didn’t hear anything. The shop was gone from Gigspot by noon, so I assumed it was assigned to someone else. I woke up yesterday and they had assigned it to me with $110 pay sometime late Tuesday evening! I was like what is going on? I completed it yesterday. It was 3 miles from my house. Cha Ching I hope I get paid!

That happened to me yesterday. I did the job and then it got pulled. Are you located on the west coast?
I’m in the southern US. I have submitted since I have received two responses from the complex as follow up. What do you mean it got pulled? You mean you had not fully submitted since you were waiting on the follow up emails?

I think @SBP meant they just started the route and did at least one apartment and then discovered none of the locations were on their dashboard. Not sure if @SBP had seen all those shops loaded on their dashboard prior to heading out, or was going by the scheduler's email confirmation and just head out to start. (?)
Update:

Yes, the assignments were pulled after they’d appeared as confirmed in my queue/dashboard, after I’d already done a third of the site visits, and I was 300 miles from home and had made appointments for site visits and invested in lodging and travel…and after doing well by them for more than 50 previous assignments.

I refused to accept being treated that way so emailed and called anyone I could reach up the chain of command and finally got a call back from someone who outranked the offending individual and my assignments were restored yesterday.

I’m grateful I found someone with a conscience who did the right thing, and am reminded of how fragile we are in this economy, and how a single psychologically immature individual given any measure of power can create so much unnecessary chaos, drama and stress for others, negatively effecting our health and fiscal well being, and the reputation of the company they represent.

We are very vulnerable and can’t rely on anything in this corporate economy, regardless of our proven skill, loyalty, or past positive performance.

We also can’t tolerate wrongdoing without doing what we can to expose, correct it, and try to prevent it from being repeated.

SBP, I'm glad that it eventually got resolved for you. Thank you for the update and sharing!
