There is a ton of discussion about those exact sub shops on this board. Yes: many of us don't think they're a great deal and the meat slicer picture is not the easiest.

Thank you. I thought I saw something previously but couldn't locate the comment.

Why do you think they call themselves "A closer look"? @.@
They aren't going to use your information nefariously but most of their shops are not worth the time. They pay at the end of the month after you complete the shop so 30 to 60 days depending on when you shop. They are a legitimate company but currently seem to think that information is worth a free meal and not much else.
They were the first shop I did when I got in MS a couple of months ago. I did a few for reimbursement only at first, for locations very close to my house. Now I pick up the far flung ones when I'm headed out for other purposes and there is a good bonus. The ones I did this week were $25 and $35 bonuses, they were each less than a mile from the freeway, and I had to eat lunch each day anyway.

My Pixel6 does a good job with the photos at 0.70 zoom. Learning that helped a lot. Plus I often like to bring a book and sit and enjoy my lunch and not consider it "working time.". That also makes it easier if one of the photos didn't come out well, I'm able to retake it as I'm heading back from the restroom.

I've got it down to less than half hour of effort, since I only pick locations I will be driving past anyway and I am aggressive about requesting alternate dates which fit my schedule. So even with just a $10 bonus and valuing the sandwich+drink at $10 (as opposed to $14-15 list price), I'm well above my threshold of $30/hour.
The slicer photo is not hard to capture, but the food is not good. These shops are not worth it to me and its not because of the photo requirement. Cold sandwich on stale bread, chips and a Pepsi...I would rather just eat at home.
IMHO, the food is great, the rolls are fresh, the meats are sliced to order, the service is friendly, and the photos are easy. I grew up near where the chain was founded. I have done shops as far west as California and there is remarkable consistency. However, seeded rolls seem to be a Philly area thing, not even at the Jersey Shore. Until the shops appeared in my area maybe a year ago, I was paying to eat there. Free is better.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I finally found a sandwich I liked, The #9. it's the bacon, LOL.

I only do the ones within a few miles if I need a sandwich for some reason. Good for two meals for me.
This thread epitomizes my paraphrasing of an old adage: "What's meat for one shopper can easily be poison for another."

I think, by Gigi's use of COLD, I know the client's name. I accepted a shop there approx. 15 yrs. ago, completely unaware they did not serve hot sandwiches. The manager explained they had a toaster oven but when the company learned of this violation, the store was required to remove the appliance. I never considered returning.
