2 questions about Presto

1. Does Ipsos own Presto?
2. The GeoVerify app on my phone works correctly for every site and everywhere I am EXCEPT Presto, where I am told that my geo locator must be turned off or is malfunctioning, on my iphone. It is "on", and certainly not malfunctioning. I submitted a support ticket to Presto, but the ticket was closed and I did not receive a response. Does anyone know what is happening?

Ipsos does not own Presto.

Shopping South Jersey, Southeast Pennsylvania, and Delaware above the canal since 2008
Re-verify your location after being onsite a few minutes. Sometimes it helps to close the app and reopen then verify. In the end Presto just sucks at this.
Give the Presto app permission to access your location in the app settings on your phone.
I have an updated iPhone, have done all of the above, and still get that message, even though everything’s turned on and I know the data is there.

Also no replies from support.

If I’m working with a new scheduler, I mention the concern to cover myself.

No rejectionsx
Without a check in, I can't get to the shop in order to start entering photos or data....Presto has NOT responded to my ticket, and I have had to CANCEL the shops in question. I think they are all IPSOS shops.

Sal, open up the settings on your phone. Go to app settings. scroll down to the Presto app. Enable location permissions for the app. Then you should be able to check in. If you don't have the location enabled for your phone you'll have to do that too, but if you're using your GPS on your phone it is already on.
Even when it tells me I'm miles and miles away from the location (and I'm really not) it still allows me to check in and 'report a location problem' but complete and submit the report.

Good idea to cover yourself. Schedulers can’t know about issues if we don’t tell them.

Most phones store location/time metadata if you turn those functions on as well.

I had the same issues with Presto “support.” The issue prevented completion of the assignment. there was no reply after 2 days so I reached out again, explaining that. My account was deactivated same day.

We are held to very specific standards and are the ones who lose out and waste time and gas when when they mess up.

Deleted the app, which is no better after the “improvements.”
There is currently a restaurant shop that I want to do on Presto. I claimed the shop, my son claimed the shop another time. We go to the restaurant and try to check in. But Presto's marker for the shop is 40 miles away, same street, different city, the addresses do NOT match.

I've reported it to Presto, and argued with them about it. They said that it's the MSC's fault for giving them the wrong location information. But the location info is correct. When I put the address that they provide into google maps it shows the correct location. If you try to check in, it fails, and you "report a location problem" but it still won't let you complete the shop.

Opening a ticket to report a problem on Presto seems to be a fool's errand.
I have had luck turning my phone completely off and then back on. When I have done that, I’ve been able to check in. I was also told by support to set location to allow only when using. I had it on always allow. I have not tried it since I switched to that, so I don’t know if that will make a difference. But I do know that turning my phone off and back on has worked every time.

Yes to a fool’s errand.

I’d reached out and described the challenges )politely despite the level of frustration).

I did get a reply from support but it was a week late didn’t address my concerns, and rude.

They seem to think the new rollout is wonderful.

I write back, invited them to create a shopper account, pick an assignment, go into the field, and try to complete it.

They deleted my profile.

I’ve let my schedulers know this app is more problematic than before. If enough of us do so things might change, or they’ll move to a different platform.

This is a Presto map problem, not an app problem. The pin is located 40 miles from the actual location, on the map. It's located in same place 40 miles away on the desktop version website too. Presto says it's because the MSC gave them the wrong information. But if you input the address on google maps, it takes you to the actual restaurant, not where the pin is 40 miles away in a different city and county.
That app needs help. I think the website does, too. If I open one of the instashops to look at it, often you can't click on the guidelines because it says you have to check in to do the shop, but why would I check in when I haven't even claimed the shop yet, let alone looked at the guidelines? I emailed tech help and of course, their explanation denied what I had just said.

Then there is the problem of the endless loop on the app I get stuck in that will pop up saying there is a newer version and it wants to save and update to the newer version but no matter what, you get the same newer version pop up no matter how many times it updates. Closing it out won't work but going to another device altogether will. Luckily I always have an ipad and an android cell phone with me on shops. (unfortunately, my ipad is ailing and failing and I am having trouble being ok with spending that much money for a new one).

Also glitchy and sucky is when I open a shop to look at it but don't claim it, it disappears off the map and list until I close the entire webpage out and go back in. Not sure if the app will refresh the same way. I wrote to tech help and more non-answers. I really like the concept of the site and app, just wish it would behave.
