Hotel/Airfare/Travel Shops

Hey everyone,

I've been doing mystery shopping for a few months now, and I've just landed my first hotel gig with Coyle. Ultimately, I am more interested in doing a 2 hour report for a full luxurious dinner than I am spending 30 minutes for some crummy takeaway. So I'd love to know about your recommendations for good mystery shopping companies that do hotel/travel/airfares?

Me and my partner are thinking of going away on holiday, likely to Japan (we are located in Australia), and I'd love to know if there's a way to tie in our holiday with any of these shops to cut down on costs. Especially if they also reimburse travel costs, whether fully or partially.

I know Coyle does a few (and we all know how savagely complex their reports have to be!), but I'd love to know about any others, especially ones that you've had a good experience with, and who frequently get overseas shops.

Thanks in advance! smiling smiley

Nicely done!

Haven't done a Coyle in years, but I've got a solo lunch shop on Thursday hoping that will get me closer to acceptance for an attractive hotel observation here in town.

As long as you know going in that it will be narrative-intensive you should be good. Enjoy!

Have synthesizers, will travel...
Have my first coyle hotel stay next month, looking forward to how it’ll go, knowing they like their narratives and info.
I wonder how you got chosen for a hotel shop, when I have been applying for over a year and a half and they haven't given me one. Used to do TONS of work with them 2021-2023 and have a 95% rating...

They live in Australia.
Honestly, scheduling comes down to a lot of variables.

They might have an age or race restriction that your profile doesn't meet.
They might select someone who makes 1,000,000 for a luxury property over someone who makes 100k.
They might have someone who has done hotel shops before and has a 99 score apply too so they get it over you.
You might live 500 miles away and they want someone within 50 miles because they are less likely to cancel.
You could be the 10th person who applies who has the same rankings/experience as the other 9 so they went in order of who applied first.

Unless you are scheduling for a company, you won't know the exact reasons they pick who they do. It's just the way the game works. Keep applying, keep doing good work and you will probably get around to it eventually. Even if it's one of those senior 65+ cruises I saw on the board a while ago winking smiley
