Marketforce pulled a fast one

I know this was recently discussed but I couldn't find it on the board. I got an email today saying that XYZ job was given to me. I definitely know that I did not apply for this shop. I do not agree to do any of their shops automatically. In fact this is the same location that they are asking me to tell them how I look so that the managers can verify whether or not I am the shopper. I vowed I wouldn't return to this location so I wonder why they would pull this stunt.

Wow, that's weird. They have also assigned me shops when I have not signed up for auto assignment. Were you given an option to decline the assignment, as opposed to cancelling? That would be good, and a way out. If cancelling is your only option, I would immediately email the Help Desk stating that you had not requested the assignment and, much as you would like to help them, previous commitments prevent you from being able to accept.
There is a signup on the Market Force List that says you will do automatic shops. I know I have never signed up for that, but it's ther you might want to check thatout.
Yes, I made that mistake before and was carfeul not to check it. They know I'm not an automatic shopper otherwise they wouldn't call me every month and beg me to take those shops that are hard to fill. They use the line, "Since you are such a great shopper." I'm like, yea, since you are such a great Bs-er how much is it. LOL

This is interesting. I DID sign up for a few automatic shops and have NEVER been assigned one.

I sometimes get a note from their auto-scheduler that I'm eligible, but I still have to click through in order to accept the shop. In fact, I've never accepted one of the auto shops because it didn't work out for me or because someone else got to it before I could confirm.

I signed up at least a year ago, so it's not a recent thing for me.
This has happened to me once or twice. Just call the help desk and tell them that you did not sign up for it -- they'll take it off.
