MarketForce Deactivating Accounts

I recently started shopping again and in Jan asked Marketforce to reactivate my account. They deactivated it again after 10 days. So on April 2nd I asked them to reactivate again. Every time I've checked they have only had <fast food place> and reveal gas audits, which I don't like to do. I go on today to assign a shop to myself since I noted one I liked last night and I get a message that I am deactivated again. Is this common?

Mod note: Hi tlin, welcome! Even though MF keeps deactivating you, you still need to NOT name their clients in your posts. Thanks! smiling smiley

I know it is common for them to deactivate shoppers on a whim. I started shopping again after about 4 years. I asked them to reactivate me and the did. They said just to make sure I stay active with them so as not to get deactivated again. But I have gone a month or two without accepting any shops from them and they have not deactivated me yet.
Oops, sorry for putting the name, I wasn't thinking. They re re-activated me and I accepted a shop. I'm feeling a bit wary, but this has been a good month so far.
Thank you, tlin!! It has been way too long since we last heard from the Moderator! Isn't the Mod fun?

I just got a call from MF asking me to do a certain ff shop that's a 20-minute drive away for a bonus ($12). I hate this particular ff shop. I thanked the scheduler but told her I only take them when they are bonused higher (depending on distance, $18-$20).

She said MF is culling their lists. She said if I don't take some of this particular ff shop at base price soon, they will remove this shop from my list of available shops.

No skin off my nose. I'll miss the bonus, but I was only doing about 1 a month. I do plenty of other shops monthly for MF, many at base rate.

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
Sounds like a hollow threat to me. Plus it treads awfully close to the line between employee and IC.

Quite right, Lisa. If they can demand that we take jobs at the stated rates, we are skirting awfully awfully close to employment status, with none of the benefits that normally accrue thereto!!!!!!!
Like having the employer pay 1/2 the cost of SS and FICA......

Well along time ago, I use to be a mystery shopper as well as an certified field associate for Market Force. At the time I happened to work for them they were in fact a pretty good company to work for at least I thought anyway. But since then I haven't worked for them now for approximately 5 years. Now all the job assignments they had sent out were pretty good assignments and paid very well. I truly loved each one of them. Plus, all the people I had met were exceptionally pleasant to work with & around. They were also very helpful too!

I can understand most of the people whom have worked directly with Market Force maybe had some real bad experiences with them back then. But ever since, then they have corrected the immediate problem which had caused a lot of different problems for many other people whom had recently signed up with them back then. Presently, though if you were to sign-up now with them you probably wouldn't have anymore problems at all! But, if you did they have a much different telephone number then a long time ago which would connect you with alive person on the other end of the phone. From there they would collect the information that you would give them and then proceed to work and fix the problem immediately. Instead of you waiting a few days for results or even better yet answers to why and what happened..

So all I can say is simply give them another chance and you'll be surprised what actually happens from that point alright!

@tlin, to be deactivated so fast, probably your phone/email was missing or bounced back. Their system drops any shopper when that happens.
tlin, did you check with MF to determine why this happened?

Let's see if the moderator is paying attention with this FICTITIOUS post:

I am still active with Market Force. I love their All American Burger shops, their Pizza Planet shops, and the Arnold's Diner shops.
I agree! How about MF's Bellagio shops in Vegas? That's my favorite! Just a few radio buttons and I'm free to waste the $250 fee on the slots. So fun!
