Ugh, I cannot believe there will be two five minute bank shops that I will not be paid for, b/c maritz doesnt accept PDF files but yet on their website, their help documents are available in pdf format, and then the ridiculous size of the photos. All for $8.50. It's really not worth the hassle, but I simply want to redeem myself for screwing up on a gas station audit. I have never dealt w/ a company this picky (other than second-to-none).

They are getting more and more picky. I only do PDF when I have to download a file other than that I have never used it. I had to submit some additional information for a evaluation and they did not want PDF.

Did they let you reshop the gas station or give it someone else?

The 5 minute shops are a pain in the ass!! HOWEVER, I usually do 50 of the 5 and 10 minute shops...then they are worth the effort a day or 2 to run them (I got a route I do) then a day or 2 to scan scan scan...that 400 PLUS check every month is real nice! With the price of gas and my time it is getting harder and harder to justify some of these minimal pay shops...I do many "last minute" desperate shops when the bonuses get big...it makes me wonder how much the companies are making....

I have done all the .....................in the Dayton,OH metro area. Maritz keeps calling me and sending me e-mails to do them again. I tell them no because I am hard to forget I stand 6'5" weigh 300 lbs. have salt and pepper hair and a completely white beard and Iam 66 years old.

They will have to pay me atleast $50 (per shop) to even get me out of bed to do one of these again!

Right now it is going to take that much or more to get me out of bed for shops of any kind.

Once you figure out all the little quirks and figure out the easiest way to route 'em, snap 'em, name 'em, and upload 'em... they really are quite easy.

Once I leave the branch, I can snap, name, & upload to dropbox within three minutes.
Once I get home, I can input the entire report within four minutes.

However, the first set of 7 I did, took me like 10 hours lol

If you get on a good route and fit 6 or 7 into one day a few times a month, it really does make for awesome extra income. Not to mention, if you can pick up a route in some other part of town, you can accept other shops from other companies that you normally wouldn't because it wouldn't be worth the gas.

I have done as many as 22 in a day...gotta learn your method there Steffi...I run 3 routes in 3 days and takes about 2 days of scanning and reporting (of cousre dinner and fiddle farting fit into that LOL)... but my checks equal 400 plus...better than 9 to 5 all week!!!

The first time I did these, I almost cried. It all seemed so confusing. However this month I have taken on 12 in another city. I like that there is no rush on the reports.

I agree that Maritz is a pain. the last four shops I did I forgot to submit the invoice, so I have not been paid.

Why are they a pain if you forgot to submit an invoice?

I didn't know the system of physically submitting each shop number the first go around (and I had 50+ shops!!) But I called and they are so nice (we are on first name basis now) and told them of my ignorance and they gave me a one time pass and submitted them all for me WHEW!!...trust and believe I don't forget now...LOL

Steffi tell me about drop box....do you have to resize your photos....

I have always been notified by email when my invoice or receipt was not sent in or needed to be resent. The only time I did not receive a payment was when I first started, 6 years ago, I did not send an invoice with a debrand that does not have a receipt and called when I was not paid. They worked it out for me and explained the system. The invoice still has to be sent to show that the shop has been completed and submitted.

I have never had a problem with being paid by them.

Can someone explain the difference between "5 minute" and "10 minute" bank shops referenced above? How can you tell which one you're choosing?

5 min pays a dollar lesstwice the work you have to call the bank and ask to be sent banking info...4 pages to scan and download....PLUS stop in and ask for the same material 4 pages to scan and download...8 docs total...10 min shops you sit with banker and ask for info regarding something to get the welcome to banking booklet 2 sheets and a business card scan the 4 docs and download...hope this helps....do a bunch it is scanner nightmare...LOL.....does not really pay to do just one...i run 15 to 20 in a day like a route....then i spend about 6 hours numbering each doc (IMPORTANT), scanning and then anohter 2 or 3 hours filling out the form....pain in the ass...BUT...for 2 days work damn near 200 bucks...easy money just a bit labor intensive!!! actually leaving to run 16 today!!!! u will find me at my scanner later...lol...gonna try taking a pic and see what happens.....

I found photos worked much quicker on those. I went through the pieces and labeled with shop numbers with a Sharpie, spread the pieces out on the floor and just went down the row and took all the pictures. The camera was set at 640x480, and the files were all in order by shop number and already in the order I'd need them in for in each form.

I'm seeing $9.50 and $15 shops, are those akin to the two you're talking about?

I'm not sure what the overdraft one is. I only see the personal banker shops when I login.

overdraft...bank has a new promo..same as 10 minute...but 2 additional scans...not a customer u ask what the details are...customer you ask how to get it....15 dollar shops are for those who hbankave an account...u can not do the 10 min or 5 min....10 min are the 9.50 so are the overdraft....8.50 are the 5 minute shops...does this help? where in ohio are u tech savvy...i cover alot in NE ohio

I'm near Columbus. I do the current customer ...............shops for Maritz and the other MSC's that do them, just hadn't seen this overdraft shop mentioned until today.

The overdraft came out last month...my daughter hipped me to it...lol...i actually missed it cuz i am so used to doing this shop i just look for the money...i guess once u start the 15 dollar shops u r stuck there...not sure...i know that i am now stuck with the 5, 10 and odp shops...got slammed into them when i restarted my little shoping business after a hiatus of a few years...just love this...sometimes i get overwhelmed with the paperwork...but geez....short of cash or out of work it is a great way to get a little income or alot of income...and with these chase shops i know for a week of work i am going to get a nice check...hope maritz never loses this client!!!...lol...covering cleveland/akron and u got columbus....happy shopping!!

Maritz has another client that had two different programs going at the same time. If you are shopping one type shop the second type does not come up on your available shops page.

I couldn't agree more. They have now required you to purchase your own orange vests to do their gas station audits, and you have to take a photo of yourself in the restroom mirror proving you have the vest on.

I have been hung up on by an editor when she told me to read something and then she asked if I was there and I responded immediately, "I'm reading." But, alas, I was to late because she had already hung up. When I called back the guy that answered told me that I had hung up on her and transferred me to a voice mail because I was upset.

I was told that I would get an extra bonus on several shops because of the distance I had to travel, and that the scheduler would call me and let me know. Never received a call. When I called - upset about having to buy a vest and not getting the bonus as I was assured I would, I said I would complete the shops on my list and that would be it.

I completed two shops and when I went to enter them, all of the shops had been removed from my list of shops - no email, no phone call. Of course I have to wait to call them, however, one of the shops that I performed is no longer on the available list, so I guess I won't be getting paid for going to them and doing the audit.

Their pay is garbage for the amount of work involved in their jobs.

Oh, and I was told that my rating was 92 out of 100 - that's pretty high on the list - too bad they don't care about their good auditors - I won't be working for them again!!

They like for shoppers to have at least a 96 but according to one scheduler they have made it harder to keep that score.

I never talked a editor. My conversations with editing was through a third party. If I left a message for editing if it was them that called back they were nice.

They have changed the way they do things and although I knew changes were in the forcast I did not know what they were. I can see some of them now. They will lose shoppers because of the new attitude but they will keep on doing business.

That is too bad that u r having a bad experience with Maritz. I have talked with a dozen people there and am on first name basis with a few. I have never had anything but a GOOD experience with them. Agreed their shops are a bit labor intensive for low pay. I only do the bank shops. My daughter has done some of the gas ones and agrees it is too much also. But the bank shops add up if you can do them in a route. One or two dont really seem worth it. My checks are always around 400 or 500 a month....2 days to run from 9 to 6 and about 2 days to scan and download....so lets say about 10 bucks an hour....been looking for a "real job" for over a year and have had one interview.....I will take that bullshit for 10 bucks an hour and a steady flow of cash month after month!!!!!!!
