This is a SCAM. Run like Hell!

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
Absolutely a scam! Evident for more reasons than this, but as a mystery shopper, you are never a salaried "employee" of a company, you are an independent contractor. FYI, there is a legitimate company called Market Force, but this ain't it!
Run, run run!

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
As already stated a SCAM. Apparently there are a variety of these floating around. I responded to a craigslist job opening and received something along these lines. Unfortunately, these idiots had my mailing address because I had submitted a resume before learning what their "assignments" are. I ignored anything further from them and thought that was the end of it. What turned up in my mail were money orders totaling almost three thousand dollars which they wanted me to cash and after keeping $200 from each, wire them the money by Western Union. I took them into the local sheriff's station but even that didn't stop them. My cell phone is also listed on my resume. After the money orders arrived and they received no Western Union money, they began texting my cell phone. I consulted with law enforcement again and they said they understood my reluctance to have anything to do with them but to send an email to their AOL address and ask them to contact their local law enforcement and my local sheriff's department as both were anxious to speak with them. End of problem, of course, but I hope you can avoid that much aggravation. If it is any comfort, I was a little worried about them having my street address but law enforcement said it was almost certainly a long distance scam. Beware however, their money orders look real and they do send them via one of the established carriers.
Thank you guys .That's just what I am going to do .As soon as I receive their package I will throw it right away.
Annie, on one of the threads about scams (and there are oooohhh so many here!) someone mentioned presenting real looking Money Orders at their bank. The story was that the real ones with those numbers had been for small amounts cashed many months before and the current ones were fraudulent replicas of those with the amounts changed to big bucks. The scammers know that the stuff must look real and they know that the company names on the checks need to be of legitimate companies so that a preliminary check will show that XYZ Company does have account number 123456 at ABC Bank and there is money to cover the check. But of course by the time the check goes through XYZ Company will disclaim it as fraudulent and the banks involved then work back through the system to the poor sod who deposited the check.
The money orders mailed to me without my permission do LOOK real but are now marked Void and in the file where I kept a record of everything. Frankly, local law enforcement wasn't very interested because I hadn't fallen for the scam and deposited the checks in my bank. They basically said had that happened, they would have had a crime to investigate but when all it amounts to is an attempt to defraud (probably falling under something vague like "conspiracy to commit a crime"winking smiley, they just don't have the resources to run it all down and have to concentrate their energies on the situations where some poor soul actually got caught up in it. I wanted to dump those forged money orders on them but they wouldn't accept them because then they would have had to file a report, etc. I would suggest that you not just throw them out. It is a hassle but mark them void so no one accidentally thinks you forgot to cash them if you get hit by a truck. Then file 'em away and discard when you are sure the whole mess is over. Maybe I am too cautious but I did want to make the report to law enforcement to be on the record in case my name turns up when they get caught. As soon as they do, their computers will be seized. Sorry to alarm the person who started this thread but such is the world now.
I just got one of these emails too. The wording was a tip off (foreign), as was the email address of aol, along with the impossibility of $200 from Market Force! LOL I found it in my spam folder so at least it was in the right place. Although I would consider any email from Market Force belonging there anyway.
