Update: I'm all set up. It took two phone calls, and my impression is that there wasn't anything wrong, it's just how they do things. First, I was asked for an activation code that was never provided so I called. After I gave my birthdate, the rep said it was my activation code. Okay, that was easy but why make you have to call in? (I had already called in earlier to activate the card, with no issues, but no mention was made of needing a code later and no code was given in the confirmation text).
Back to the website to sign up for direct deposit. Enter everything....submit...."Your session has timed out." Hmm. Go away kids, stop interrupting...."Your session has timed out." Lightning speed since autofill has memorized the answers...."Your session has timed out."
Sigh. Log out. Close browser. Start from scratch. "Your session has timed out."
Made a second phone call. Rep asks for card number and birthdate and immediately says, "You are all set."
Go back again and everything works fine. It is like they want you to give up and use the card so they can charge fees, I guess. Very frustrating and I'm not expecting the first direct deposit to go well. Hopefully the worst is over. It shouldn't take this much work to be paid for working!
