Comdata payroll card

Does anyone have experience with Comdata payroll cards? I was told it is easy to have the funds direct deposited into your bank account vs. using the card. Trying to set this up via their website has been very frustrating so far, to the point I'm nervous about entering any more personal information.

I guess they make it hard since they benefit from keeping the money you have earned for as long as they can. It is giving me a bad feeling about accepting a job that pays this way. Hopefully someone can offer some reassurance. Thanks!

Update: I'm all set up. It took two phone calls, and my impression is that there wasn't anything wrong, it's just how they do things. First, I was asked for an activation code that was never provided so I called. After I gave my birthdate, the rep said it was my activation code. Okay, that was easy but why make you have to call in? (I had already called in earlier to activate the card, with no issues, but no mention was made of needing a code later and no code was given in the confirmation text).

Back to the website to sign up for direct deposit. Enter everything....submit...."Your session has timed out." Hmm. Go away kids, stop interrupting...."Your session has timed out." Lightning speed since autofill has memorized the answers...."Your session has timed out."

Sigh. Log out. Close browser. Start from scratch. "Your session has timed out."

Made a second phone call. Rep asks for card number and birthdate and immediately says, "You are all set."

Go back again and everything works fine. It is like they want you to give up and use the card so they can charge fees, I guess. Very frustrating and I'm not expecting the first direct deposit to go well. Hopefully the worst is over. It shouldn't take this much work to be paid for working!

Good luck getting it all sorted out.

Floating around like a feather hoping the wind will set me down somewhere awesome.
Update: First "load" (paycheck) after I signed up for direct deposit went to card because it takes ten days to set up. That is fine, they warn you of that. That money has been sitting there.

Second "load" went on Friday's payday then went straight to direct deposit but isn't available yet. They send you texts, which is nice. It shows the pay amount, and the available balance on your card (that didn't change, because the new pay will be in my checking account, eventually). I don't know when it will hit my checking account, but that will be the day I will consider payday. As long as everything is communicated, I can handle it.

I decided the easiest thing to do with the funds sitting on the card would be online shopping. To transfer them to checking would mean also setting up "manual direct deposit" and I suspected waiting another ten days for that and it didn't seem worth the hassle.

Interestingly, with all the delays in getting the money to where you can use it.....the SECOND I hit "confirm order" at checkout, I received a text with the remaining balance! Instantly gone.
