CAST/Castforce Merging?

And if you look at your paperwork it says some jobs pay LESS than whatever they gave you as your scale;

"Variable Wage" is exactly why I quit Advantage several years ago. They had an in-store rate, a lower admin rate, and an even lower drive time rate. I applied for merch work with WIS International a few months ago and they had a two tier system also. One rate for in-store and another lower amount for admin and drive time.

I guess CAST is looking at it from another angle. If they can pay you more than base for certain jobs such as Toys R Us, they can pay lower than base for others. As long it it is above the state minimum wage I assume it is legal. Anybody have factual information to the contrary?

Not saying it is right or ethical, but I assume it is legal.
Everyone is complaining about the pay but has anyone been told that Cast will only being working with Toys R Us, L'oreal and Meijer? I was told this from my old TOM a couple of weeks ago when they sent out an email with the territory changes for the TOMS. So no more CVS,7/11,Speedways. Has anyone heard about this?
No, that's a new one. I have a bunch of CVS and 7-11 visits in the next 2 weeks though.I had heard they were going to do the projects on paper instead of the app a few months ago, but nothing ever came of that. Wonder if they're going to shift some things back to IC?
I don't know but that's what was told to me by my old TOM. I noticed there are a lot of 7/11 in my area for the next weeks too. So I guess we'll wait and see.
Here in California we are still being fed the CVS and 7-11 stores as normal. I have a bunch coming up.
Sure would have been nice if they could have slapped all the labels on the same side of the gift card boxes, you know?

It always irritated me that they wouldn't place the stickers on the same side of the box, but I got use to it. What was more surprising, recently, was being hired by another company and having the stickers placed the same as Cast and the boxes came from Cast. My LOA is from Cast but I don't work for Cast.
Oh, oh, what is the other company? I would love to do these again but not for Cast. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to but I would sure like to know so I can sign up for these.
The IRS does not make wage and hour rules. The Federal Government and individual states do. For example, The IL. Department of Labor wage and Hour Division., they help with hourly wage claims.
spicy1 it is still for Cast but they are hiding behind another company. They are paying a lot less and expecting much more. Yes, Tammy Little and the owners are behind it.

Snap is paying like Castforce, independent contract. I have jobs for the next two weeks.

An hour per week? What are they doing in there?
Cast and SNAP AUDITS are one in the same company...neither pay....do your research or work for free. You were warned.
Cast just dropped the other shoe. No more L'Oreal Continuity visits as of today. So nice to let us know. No other work available in my area after this week. I got a recruiting email last week, promising lots of work. (I've been with them from the first.) Nice,eh?
I'm trying to find out who got the gig, maybe Crossmark?!

In Australia, they hire their own merchandisers; not through a third party. I hope they do that here, I want that gig!!!!!

A "Jason" is in charge of my area for SNAP. He always communicates, when called or emailed. I have had a good experience with SNAP; They have paid me for every assignment on time. Love to all! Signed, Night Owl at 7:30 pm
Does anyone work for Crossmark? Is it like other companies were I make my own schedule? How is the pay and actuality getting paid? Anything little help would be appreciated!
I don't work for them now, but I have. The job is not independent contractor, it's employee. You are hired and assigned locations based on your address. They assign the jobs and you do them. If you are unable to do them you can call your area manager and they may, or may not, find someone else and give you less and less work if you do not complete all assignments given to you! The pay is very basic, anywhere from $10 to $12.50 and there is never a problem with paychecks as long as you fill out your reports! If you do all the work you are assigned and kiss your area manager's arse this is a very good, very long term part-time job to have and work mystery shopping and other small company assignments around it. They have 'beast' assignments. Someone at the factory placed Sam's club flyers in the Costco pampers diapers! 5am I get an email from my area manager's boss saying $100 for each one you sign up for to go remover flyers. I made $700 that Saturday! My area manager was pissed because I took them all but that's what happens when your other pitiful merchandisers sleep until 10am every day.....ha!

I was recently hired by crossmark, but haven't started yet. They initially offered me $8.something, but I declined. They called back a couple of weeks later with an $11 offer, which I accepted. I'm having second thoughts though. I don't think I really like the idea of being told what my schedule is. I like the freedom of being able to schedule my jobs for the days and times that suit me. And so now, even though I didn't even start yet, I'm feeling boxed in by this company.
they would not hire me because I would not say that I would work at 7 AM. He told me just to agree to it the chances of it happening were very small but I know different.
Unless you have a reset, with Crossmark, you can usually complete your work anytime during the week. Some projects are due by Wednesday (or whenever) but most are due whenever you can complete them. Resets are completely different and you need to be there for the day they are set to be completed. Usually though, if they have enough employees working in the area you can decline those. Those resets, especially the very early in the morning ones, happen to be my favorite! Yea, oh no, HeDoubleToothPicks on the $8. something! Even Walmart's base pay is $10 so it should be more than that for very part-time, no guaranteed hours and all that jazz.
