What is an appropriate post?

It's just sad when the forum admins appear to side with the 4 year old children instead of the ones who at least attempt to act like adults sometime. Oh well. If only we had a forum where we didn't have to put up with that kind of crap.

Can someone explain to me why this has been moved out of it's original thread and now appears as it's own thread?

First. Are there four year olds on this forum? Didn't realize.

Second. I don't recall the placement of the OP, but this thread would not seem to belong on the MS Company Discussion forum. The question of appropriateness is a good one. So subjective, and in my experience, can be unwieldy.

Third. Find a better forum, create a better forum, or help make this one better. Or, maybe, forums aren't your cup of tea.

Well according to the 5 people that liked this post and the more than dozen that liked wales' post referencing the 4 year olds I'd say I'm not the only person who thinks there are 4 years olds here.

The OP was a reply in the LRA thread. That thread obviously belonged in the company forum but this one (which I did not create) obviously doesn't. Perhaps the meta forum would be a better place. It seems to me it was moved here to perhaps discuss what is and isn't appropriate. I would love to both give my input and hear others' input on that subject.

Yes it is subjective. I suppose you would have a bit of experience with that.

I don't believe there is an option 1, I would prefer not to do option 2 although it certainly would be a viable option and something I would have the IT skills necessary for, and I have been seriously attempting option 3 (which hopefully will have results soon).

I've decided not to put up with the grade school mentality and put downs and finally toggled a couple. My life just got easier, those that are fed up should join me....

When you toggle someone, does that mean you no longer have to see their posts at all? What if they are the OP. Do you just see the other posters, but not the toggled OPs post?

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.
When you toggle someone you just see an entry that says you have toggled the user where their post should be. You still see the same thread information, even if they're the ones who started it.

Toggling also reminds me not to engage these posters. There are two of them that have similar names, so I can keep them straight based on which posts I can and cannot see.

Regardless, it drives away a lot of the more experienced and more mature posters, as they don't engage in such nonsense. It makes me cringe. I don't wish to be associated with "that type of shopper".
Some four year olds are too pathetically entertaining to toggle!

With the understanding that "4 year old children" refers to the juvenile mentality of many posters, BG's comment rings true....and I would argue that making a statement about something that detracts from the quality of the forum IS an attempt to make this forum better, and therefore a positive contribution.

Telling someone to go away because you don't care for their opinion is part of the juvenile mentality.
Shopper 8,
It appears that Jacob or a moderator decided to move these and start a new thread. IMHO, it should have been moved to the META area.

I do not see this as MS Company discussion either. General Chat or Meta seems more likely.
But, the OP did not start it here, so he is not responsible for it being here, at least.

Nope. All done until the grind starts all over again on Monday.
I find it sad the way the newbies get treated and chased away. The four year olds stalk their posts, tell them their questions are a waste of time and call them trolls.

Well, if any other commenters here feel I fall into the category of "four year olds", I apologize profusely for any feeling of ill will felt. It was never my intent to be hurtful towards another - the intent was to inject a bit of humor.

That would be my only excuse, silly as it sounds.
Thank you Jacob or mods, for moving this, a second time, this time to the area where it really belongs.

From your posts that I've read, this in no way applied to you.

And apparently beer drinkers. Now that is what I call a forum. Cheers!
