The Kudos, Compliments and Shoutouts Section

Is there a case for closing the Kudos, Compliments and Shoutouts section? It seems some people might use it to influence schedulers in giving them the better assignments.

Any post on the forum in any section might be used to influence schedulers or editors or company owners. I'm in favor of keeping the Kudos section.

I am glad the forum has discontinued the Scheduler of the Year contest. There seemed to be no way to keep schedulers from voting for themselves and soliciting votes and that was definitely a place where some people registered with the forum specifically to vote for a particular scheduler, currying favor.
Sorry catnap, I HAD to give you a thumbs down, closing a good thread because MAYBE someone may post for the wrong reason, welcome to the forum. I personally want to give a shout out to a deservered MSC. Having had two or three exceptional cases where my MSC gave me personal help deserves a Kudo's......and who made you our warden, just asking? Patrolling trolls would be a better use of your time.

Thanks for the comments so far. I was interested in this matter as I have never seen such a section in any kind of forum before. I guess the 'kudos' section is needed as most other threads are by their design somehow negative towards schedulers and MSC.
I think most other threads are, by their design, somehow created to gather and disburse information about peculiarities of assignments, mystery shopping companies and clients resulting in easing one's mind by letting them know that they are not alone in their fear, excitement, concern, relegation and comprehension of the coolest and most frustrating independent contractor job that has ever been created in the history of jobs.

I think you missed a few subordinate clauses in that post.......

When I was first starting out, I loved the thread.... It pointed me to some pretty good MSC's.

If we were using our real names, I can see how that might be an issue. Most of us are using pseudonyms, so I don't think it's been a problem.

We're not allowed to use the term "newbie" on this forum. Reported.

What?

?????????????????
Her name is Cynthia Alvarez, has been there for years.....she handles Investment Banking. Calling her a newbie
says a lot about your relationship with this MSC, just sayin....try them sometime.

@Spicy1 is messing with you. It's a joke.

It shouldn't have to be explained...it may be or it may not be.....

Nope, it's not a joke. Jacob, in the same thread that he said we are not allowed to call people trolls, he also said newbies and the like.

I haven't come across that name before. I have worked mainly with Lisa, Jess amongst others. I'm not interested in their banking shops so if she focuses on those assignments I wouldn't know her from Adam.
The point was.....calling a very respected scheduler who you never heard of a newbie is the point....another insult in a round about way.....tsk tsk.

'Newbie' isn't an insult. Like I said in the previous thread, I had'nt heard of the person you mentioned so I believed she was a 'newbie'. Like I also said I never do banking shops which she apparently focuses on. In that thread I also named the people I was familiar with at the particular MSC.

Also I highly doubt she will ever see the thread that we are talking about. I believe many schedulers have a busy day without checking every forum thread for random comments.

If the person concerned reads this thread and is offended by being called a 'newbie' by someone who doesn't know her. I would like to apologize for any distress that I might have caused her.
