Has anyone been called at 10:00PM from a Scheduler?

One day last week, I received a call from a Scheduler at 10:00PM. The first thing I said was what State are you calling from? He said I was not calling from a State but a different country. He apologized and continued talking about a shop in my area. I mentioned to him another person called me 6 hours before and I said "No". He said there was nothing written down informing other schedulers that a call was made. Now I know how to tell when they are calling from another country right away, they said Ms. and your first Name and that is the giveaway. Has anyone received calls so late at night also? I was already in bed for two hours and did not expect someone calling about a bonus shop.

I have never had a call that late but I did get a call at 5am once. I told them I was still in the bed and would not get up till daylight and to call back. Then I turned my phone off (I have voice mail) and got up anyway. GRRRRRR!!!
I turn the ringer off on my phone sometime between 7pm-midnight and don't turn it back on again until I'm out of bed. They can call all they want. As my father would say, "I pay for the phone so it is for my convenience, not everyone else's."
I sleep upstairs and my phone stays down stairs. Since I have a cell phone I don't hear it ring if it's late or too early. They can leave me a message, I have voice mail.
I personally being a night owl would much rather get the 10:00 pm call than a 7 am one, but still they should respect our time.

I had a year where my phone was always connected to me and never off for any reason. My son was boots on the ground in Iraq, so I was available for the call from him I got monthly whenever it was. Those off hours calls for any reason always sent my heart racing.
Latest I've received a call was about 8:30PM. Generally I don't answer calls from numbers not stored in my phone anyway, so most schedulers get VM.
Gapbuster is in Australia, and I once got a call at 3 am. I was up - I am called Niteowl for a reason! But I sure was surprised, and he apologized when he realized he was calling the US - he thought he was calling another shopper in another country! He had a sexy Aussie accent, so it was worth it, lol!

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
That's just nuts, way worse than 10:00pm. I'm a nightowl, so take that for what it's worth. LOL

So, who is this MSC who's outsourced scheduling? Or is it a dedicated scheduling company?

Guess that is like me phoning my Aunt in Australia at 2am because I couldn't add properly, and got my time zones all mixed up. She was not impressed; thought I had called to tell her someone had died. Never did that again.

lol ! I like guys have sexy accent, but i would get a bad temper if someone wake me up in the midnight.
Being in Pacific time, the Eastern time folks don 't realize it's 3 hours earlier, as if they start their day at 9 am................ it's not that early here!
Yeah being in Pacific time has disadvantages. Calls starting as early as 5am and we are unable to contact an MSC after 2pm.
I don't recall a phone call from a scheduler that late, but I have had texts from a scheduler as late as 11:30. I am still up, usually doing reports, but I sure do jump when they come in. I don't turn off my phone. I have a backup phone and one or the other is being charged. The one everyone calls on is off when it's off, but I get a great many nice assignments by keeping my phone on and with me. I would be uncomfortable not having a phone for an emergency at night, especially since my husband travels. He once texted me about 11:30: "You awake?" Instead of texting, "Now I am", I just wrote "ok". Then he called with whatever was on his mind. I have had a theater company call me about 9:15 on Sunday, just before I turned both phones off for Sunday School.
I didn't get a call but I got an email last night about two very quick and very easy kiosk shops in a nearby amusement park that needed to be done today. Welllll today was a day off but I just couldn't resist the pay ($15 per) and how easy they are (5 minutes each), so I looked around and found two other easy shops to bring the total up to justifiable mileage and ended up NOT taking today off. It was a little rainy so golf, AKA "Plan A" was out so I decided to hit the road and get paid.

So sometimes those late night messages can be good....
I was called about 2 weeks ago by a scheduler around 9:00 PM. She begged me to do a shop for a company that limits shoppers to 5 a month. By accepting this emergency shop, I was giving up the right to select one I'd rather do. To top things off, she incorrectly assigned the shop to me that evening rather than the next day (even though the store had already closed). I contacted her about HER error right away but she did not see it (her own admission) until a few days later. So...by doing the scheduler a favor for a shop I really didn't want to do, she jeopardized my standing with one of my favourite MSCs by setting me up to be late.

On the same evening of the late phone call, the scheduler "invited" me to accept a shop with a well known confectioner/chocolate maker. I accepted her invitation and then she called a few days later to cancel (which likely means she gave it to another shopper as a favor). It's schedulers like this one who give mystery shopping a bad name.
I SO HATE it to get early morning or late evening calls. For the past two years, I've had a very sick relative. Nursing home, hospital, then finally hospice. We got some of "those calls", with her being taken to a hospital, falling, ambulance, etc. It always made me jump. I don't need the anxiety of scheduling calling at ungodly hours.
I have never receive any late night call. However, I do receive calls during diner time (6-7 PM), which I may or may not answer. It really annoys my husband more than me.

However, I notice some emails start as early as 5:00 AM, which does not bother me.
