Oil changes now paying $100 from Intellishop

So if you drive to some out of the way place for an oil change, isn't that a bit of a tip off? Why would someone from my town, close enough to several of the dealerships, drive out into the boondocks and get an oil change unless I was a shopper? I'm confused about that. But, if I had the right vehicle, I'd do it in a minute. It's about an hour drive, but heck, $100 is $100 and I could really use that right now!

I don't think the oil change people care.....$100, great pay, and if your on a run, perfect. Don't question, they are desperate to get this done, end of year and all.

Live consciously....
Imagine a scenario where you went to pick up your MIL and drop her at a bridge game, doctor's appointment or for her perm because her usual 'ride' is out of town for the holidays or some other reason. While you are waiting you may as well get your oil change rather than just sitting around twiddling your thumbs for a couple of hours. And since you are out that way every month or so to visit with her anyway, there is little reason you won't get your oil changes done there in the future.
Good cover. My only concern is that the one nearest me is in a VERY small town of people who all go to church together. I can just hear them ask, "Oh, who's your mother in law?" Uh, good question!

I think I just realized why they're only $60. The ones that show up near my aren't due until 1/15/2012.
Is that $60 plus the reimbursement? These are $100 plus up to $60 reimbursement for the service perform.

The few I looked at were zero fee, $60 reimbursement. I didn't look at every one, though.

I had one scheduled for January but I it was canceled and I was told this was at the client's request.

you have to own a spefific type of vehicle.
Now that I've received payment from several companies, I'd actually take the shop that was offered for $100, but it's gone off my board. When it was offered, I didn't have the cash to cover the oil change. DRAT! I'd do it in a second for the $120 fee.

I am ticked. They offered me $100 plus reimb to get it done this week-and I traded in my vehicle that fit the criteria a month ago.
Yep I saw the same one for $120 but don't have the right vehicle darnit. I would make the drive for that no problem. I'll probably have my car for awhile still so I'm out of luck with this one.
I don't see the real high paying ones here in my area. Usually up to $60. reimbursed & no fee. Sometimes they do offer a small fee. I have used family or friends vehicles when mine did not need it. Usually when they are offering a fee plus reimbursment.
these shops only pay a high amount because they are restricted to using just a few rare vehicle makes/models.
Nope, not the ones I'm referring to. It was any Plymouth, Chrysler, Jeep, and something else. Any year, any mileage. They were paying a lot in my area because the town was out in the boonies and the shop needed to be done this month.

You can always pretend you are a salesperson working in that area for the day. I am really a salesperson and I work all over the state. I truly do get my oil changes done often far from my house because I happen to have some free time in my day and I am out in that area. I have also done MS oil changes like this. Hope this helps someone!
I wish so much I could take my car to do one of these shops!

But, I have a Kia Sportage. Free oil change would really help. My husband took his truck, it's a 2011 Dodge Ram, but my poor car is out of luck! It definitely would be nice to have other makes/models of vehicles permitted!

DH did all three brake shops here in our city with my car, and when these shops came up again this month, he said, "Just take your car back and tell the guy you didn't believe your husband and wanted to find out for yourself!" I told him I wasn't comfortable doing that. So, hopefully if the brake shops come up again in February I will try for those that month - at least I would be 60 days out.

I just did an poil change shop it was $40.00 reimbursement and $20.00 shopper pay a total of $ 60.00.The shop I did was at a dealership where you had to have that brand vehicle to do the shop. SpyGirl I have done 2 of those shops as well buthat is a different MSC than the one I did today.
Last I checked there was a shop in Dalhart, Texas for $200 + reimbursement.

Drat. I don't have the right vehicle AND it's 360 miles away.

Go get it somebody!

Shopping far East West Texas since 2005
If asked "I'm the sales rep for Brand X company. I check on stock levels and quality control in the (Grocery, box, dollar etc) store."
I actually do similar things and I get my oil changed all over the state and out of state sometimes. There's about every possible scenerio out there in real life, so nothing stands out too far.

'i drove about 45 minutes for one of the high paying oil changes in Dec. I just told the dealership that I have family in the area. It was worth it - ended up the dealership had the nicest waiting room i was ever in.
