The only "acceptable" time to pay is to get certified through the MSPA. I am not certified because I make $600 to a $1000 a month without it. Some claim being certified helps land better jobs but I think it depends where you live. Those "great" jobs aren't everywhere. Being reliable gets you in with the schedulers and the schedulers are the ones who will determine who gets what jobs. Being certified and reliable won't be worth a hill of beans though if you can't spell or use grammar properly.

I need to get some good mystery jobs not paying any money. I am a skeptical person. I need some job listing for the area of Lynchburg,Danville,Gretna,Altavista. In the state of Virginia. My email is a011501peters@yahoo.com
Angelique,

The only way to find if a mystery shopping company is working in your area is to register with them. Once registered you can check thier job boards, volition.com is a good place to start it lists about 100 mystery shopping companies. I have registered with about 35 of them and all that I have signed up with are free. I will not pay for any service again, all the companies that I work for do not require a fee to sign up. I am in this to make some money, not pay companies to shop for them. Once again volition.com list about 100 companies that are free to sign up with.

Bonnie i want to ask you what companies are those you work with that pays you soo much to shop. I really need to get in with this program. I am new to this forum and i really found you guys so informative. Thanks
I just found a site that is great and does not charge any money. It looks like it has all the MSPA and Vloitions postings in one place

Charmaine,
I do many shops to make that kind of money. The average shop pays between $7 and $12 plus reimbursements. I bundle my shops together, usually 4 to 6 in a day. I have a group of about 8 companies which give me regular enough work to make $100 or so each month depending on availability.
The trick is to sign up with as many companies as possible. I am registered with over a 100. Take as many jobs as possible until you find the shops and companies in your area which you enjoy. This process takes time. It took me a good 6 months to get established. Today I know which companies I like, who pays when, when to search job boards for new listings and when to turn down work.
This is not easy money. I had to put in a lot of time and effort to get where I am today. Good Luck!

oOnly pay the MSPA. It is a yearly membership due. Like my Medical cetification, I have to pay every year. They give you training and updates. It is true, you don't have to do it, but almost every company I am signed up with asks for it. As well as a few other certifications that don't charge you. See my blog on Delphi Forums from IrishRose42. I have a whole list there.

These companies are very professional. They don't want to turn in a poor quality report to their customer. Spelling and grammar are very important. Bonnie's right on that one. Always spell and grammar check your narratives. Cut and paste them into your word processor, run your check, cut and paste them back into your document. Keep your shop.

A trick I use is to pick a zipcode, and go to several site and link my shops for the day to the zipcode. Little travel means more profit! Go check out my list on my blog on Delphi. They are good companies!
