How is the report for this shop?

Fair for $10, or ridiculously long and detailed?

The reports are easy once you get the hang of it.

Here is an interesting idea. I heard of this and its a good idea if you need places to ship. You can ship to food banks anywhere, Animal shelter, Women shelter for battered women. I have used some of these Ideas and you can find address on the net. I did not realize that you could find other stuff on there besides job boards and MS forums... LOL You get the shop and you doing a positive thing instead of wasting the shipping.

About a year ago I did this shop, but the guidelines could have changed. Then, I took a shop in a different zip code, though only a few miles from me, and mailed to my house.

I thought they were paying 12.00,??

You can always pick a nursing home or assisted living off the internet and send them magazines you might have

The shops appear very difficult when first attempted but they are very easy. I record everything, I do not take notes. I get the exact times as you can hear the squeaky door on EVERY post office as you enter and leave. I do say "Enter and Exit". You can ask the person in front of you, "Is this the end of the line" even though it is obviously the end of the line and the male or female will answer the question so you can hear the gender. "Not a bad line just (number of people) ahead" or as you approach you tell the recorder NO LINE I AM NEXT. When the clerk calls you say, "here I am" marks the time. Pick up forms or say, "No forms". Now a days people talk to themselves or so it appears. A few years ago people would think you are crazy talking to yourself like that.

I agree. The report is fair, but only after you get the hang of it.

The client has much unique information to become familiar with. The employee interaction requires very detailed observations including what products and services were offered and in what order. Any explanations of those products and services must be reported as well.

I started doing these mailing real mail to a relative. After about 15 or so, I found the shop easy and wanted to do it for the money so I found a post office buddy or ship it to myself if I am on a route that is far enough away from home.

If you want to do one or two on occasion, it may not be worth it to study all the details. However, if you have items to mail like birthday cards (just stick a 1 lb box of pasta with it to meet the minimum weight requirement), Christmas gifts, or can hook up with a Post Office buddy, it can be good for you. The client has many locations and the price sometimes goes up in my area.

As for items to ship, it doesn't have to be something the other person has to use except to ship to a Post office buddy. It could be 16 ounces of papers or old magazines.

PS: I'm in Rhode Island so PM with any PO buddy requests.

I started sending some special-diet dog food to an online friend who rescues elderly and infirm Shelties who have been abandoned in shelters. She (and the Shelties) really appreciate it, and I feel like I am helping out a person and some doggies I care about.

I have been known to send cans of cat food and dog food to humane societies and shelters, I also send "cheer up" gifts to various friends around the country.

I love these shops and once you get used to them they are very quick and easy.

Around here the lines are always really long (never less than 15 minutes, usually ober 30) for the Post Office. I avoid them if at all possible. The fee doesn't seem worth the prep time, wait time and report time.

Are lines shorter in other areas?

Today, my wait in line was about 13 seconds. I kid you not!

The reports are easy.

Usually, although I haven't done very many of these yet (just found the MSC that does them a few months ago) my wait times are less than 10 minutes, usually in the neighborhood of five.

If they're right in town, or along a route, I love them. An easy & quick $10, and I can send some more special-diet dog food to my Sheltie Rescue friend.

I've done about 30 of them and I have never had a wait time over five minutes. For me they're awesome, because I had kids in college and I get to send care packages and get paid.
