MSPA Certification Glitch

This is a letter I got from MSPA about their certification glitch-you know, where your certification is a secret because they can't get compatibility with their new codes:
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
MSPA launched a new certification and shopper database on December 1, 2012. We have been contacted by shoppers experiencing compatibility and code verification issues with the new database. Our records indicate you may have been affected by this. We sincerely apologize for these issues and have taken the tests offline while we work to resolve the technical problems.

If you have passed and completed Silver or Gold Certification, you are in our system as a certified mystery shopper. If you have had issues completing the test, you will be given an opportunity to re-complete the assessment. We will email you and update our social media channels with more information as it becomes available.

Sincerely,

MSPA Headquarters

I've been wanting to get my MSPA certification for some time now, but am going to hold off until all this gets straightened out.

Good idea.

I did too. Haven't yet checked to see if Sassie is taking my code now.

Just checked one and it's still saying they can't verify the code. Sigh.....

What a bummer. This kind of glitch doesn't exactly put the professionalism of the MSPA in the best light.

Me too.... I have been procrastinating for a few years. I pulled up the information and bookmarked it Sunday. I will now wait and see that those affected are good to go before moving forward. Technology you have to love it =(

Come to one of the IMSC conferences and talk directly to the "big guy" at MSPA. there are many shops out there that only go to
MSPA Gold certified. It is definitely worth pursuing the Gold.

There's a lot of us that would like to. The only thing holding us back is jumping through all the hoops and not having our certification accepted. As the situation stands right now, it is a waste of time and money if there is no system in place for MSCs to recognize that status.

I would prefer to hear about those gold only shops from shoppers themselves rather than an organization with a vested interest in certification. A friend took the silver a few months ago so he could evaluate the benefits. When he has something to report I will share it.

I submited my Gold Certification test about five weeks ago. I never received a code or a response of any sort from MSPA. I have emailed MSPA and gotten no response to my emails.

I am finding this frustrating and annoying because I paid one hundred dollars for this DVD program. First, I had to put off taking the test because MSPA was having some technical problem with that. Then, after having taken and submitted the test, I have received no response and no code.

If this problem is not soon fixed, I am highly tempted to ask MSPA to refund my one hundred dollars. What good is Gold Certification if all I can get is a message on the MSPA website that says I passed?
I received no code, no email, no feedback from the editor, nothing.

I have not tried for the gold but the silver has been giving all my MSC's a problem. I don't want to put more money into something that is not working.
The silver issue should be limited to Sassie companies only. I've been able to get my code in for all the others.

I have paid for my Gold certification but have yet to receive an e-mail with the code to even take the test. I think I'm going to ask for a refund. I was told that whoever takes care of it was on vacation and would call me last Monday. I'm still waiting.
File a chargeback with your credit card company. That will get their attention.

Well, I was going to e-mail again, however the website is currently down. That's reassuring.
Unfortunately I paid with my debit card. Sigh...I guess I'm out $75.00. Still no communication from them. An e-mail, acknowledging that they received my e-mail would have been nice.
You can still file a dispute with the bank. I have disputed items on a debit card. I would call them ASAP.
Do the chargeback with your bank and you will likely hear from them.

Didn't someone on this forum try to sue MSPA over the silver certification a few months ago? I wonder how well that went.
No, a troublemaker was threatening to. He was booted before we found out if he actually did or not. Can't remember which one it was, but the thread is probably still there. Titled MSPA -- scam?? or something along those lines.

I did finally get a response from MSPA and took the test. Now just waiting for the results.......eek!
